Fantastic facility, well worth the years of waiting and I can definitely recommend it to everyone as part of a Vegas experience. You will see things from 500 feet up that you only get in a helicopter.
The view is outstanding in a clear day and you can literally see the whole Vegas valley, mountains and many miles in every direction. Superb
It's really easy to access, there are lifts, escalators and stairs, and ramps for simple access, however there might be some difficulty for wheelchair users but the staff and super helpful and will stop the car if you need help getting on or off the actual cabins, which are very large and more than spacious enough for loads of passengers and wheelchairs. It's very inclusive for all. They really try to enhance your experience.
We did not book at the kiosks as we wanted a deal and got a half price deal with Viator, this literally cut the price in half and gave us simple email tickets directly to email within minutes.
The security staff do a simple bag check and you go through a security barrier before going up to the High roller platform and board your car. You get photos taken before you enter then they photoshopped the images ready for when you exit. You can choose from 5 beautiful images and there's no pressure to buy but they are so well done we took all 5 and got a lovely strong folder for each one. $75 dollars, a bit steep but you don't have to and you can choose to download them instead.
The staff are wonderful, helpful and considerate.
We loved the easy access ramp to exit the platform and the lovely merch in the gift shop.
It was super quiet and we had a whole huge cabin to ourselves, it is easy to get up and walk around for the ultimate photo opportunities. Slow, relaxed and very safe for everyone. You get about 30 minutes, with the Sphere, the Strip and the whole valley to every side. Spectacular and a once in a lifetime opportunity....
Read moreWho doesn't want to go 550ft up in the air to catch a view of the Las Vegas Strip and the surrounding area?! We chose to go up for the night view to see all the lights, but I imagine a sunset view would be very pretty. We got our tickets (anytime) at a discount through Vegas.com. There is also discount tickets on Groupon as well, but I think through Groupon they are for Daytime only (must get on by 4:30pm). It takes roughly 30 minutes to make the full revolution (15 minutes up and 15 minutes down).
Before you the entry to platform area on the second floor, there is a restroom to use if needed. There is also a bar where you can purchase drinks and popcorn to bring onto the ride. I have heard people were allowed to bring their own drinks on, but others have said they weren't allowed to. Each pod can support up to 40 people, but there were probably only 15-20 people in our pod (couple toddlers). They do have an option to purchase a Bar Pod (Happy Half Hour) where a party of up to 40 people can drink the whole time through the 30 minutes ride, but everyone has to be age 21+ and everyone in the party needs to purchase the Happy Half Hour ticket.
The pods were air conditioned and temperature was very comfortable. There are a handful of seats for those who want to sit, but most people are up and down walking around the pod to get a view of the city and the strip. If you are lucky, you get to see the Bellagio Dancing Fountains show from up top. You also get a great view of The Sphere from the High Roller.
Im not sure how often they wipe down the seats and the windows in the pods as there are tons of handprints on the windows, so your pictures may not turn out as clear as you would like unless you wipe the window yourself. Overall, this should be something you should do at least once. I'm not sure I would pay full price to ride this, but definitely try Vegas.com and Groupon for...
Read moreGreat ride, ruined by hostile staff member. This review is for High Roller located near the Linq Hotel or more specifically, at 3545 S. Las Vegas Boulevard in Las Vegas, Nevada. High Roller is a huge Ferris wheel standing 550 feet (168 m) tall. It has 32 spheres which are used as passenger cabins and each one has a capacity to carry 40 passengers. The ride itself takes about 30 minutes to complete one revolution and provides a great view of Las Vegas. When we rode it, there was what appeared to be an elderly father with his adult son who was very afraid of heights. He said he was riding it to try to help him get over his phobia. I felt for the guy, and he and his father were both very nice, and I commend him for conquering his fear. These two very nice passengers are in strong contrast the High Roller staff member who was unnecessarily rude/hostile. He put himself uncomfortably close within my personal space, and told me that I could not use the tripod that I brought along with my camera. I corrected him and told him it was not a tripod, it was a monopod. That just seemed to piss the guy off more. The guy seemed like he was unstable and in the interest of trying to deescalate the situation this guy was creating, I told him that I would not use my monopod. He replied by telling me that he would be monitoring the video camera in our cabin and if I used my monopod, he would trespass me from the property after we disembark. Five stars for the High Roller itself, knocked down to 1 star for the hostile staff member making unnecessary threats. He never did say why he was so strongly opposed to a device that would help steady a camera that would be used to promote the business where he worked. We...
