The were watching soft core porn in the family section?

OK so here was my experience. I have been here before a couple of times. The food was mediocre at best. But this time it was really bad. A family friend said that they didn't like the food at all and that it was dirty. I said that I had been there before and it was ok. She advised me to go again. So like the big of buffets that I am, I went for a late lunch. We get there and I immediately notice the dirt and dust on the front counter. I also notice the mess left there by the "wait staff". Money, checks, receipts, a couple of plates of food, cups, and fortune cookie wrappers. Looks like a couple of teenage boys lived there. The waitress tried to sit my family In middle of the restaurant at a table with 4 chairs. Let me remind you that there are 5 of us. 2 adults and children ranging from 4 months to 4 years. I asked her for a different seat and she gave me a look that could have melted steel. After being seated in a booth, she walked away never to help us again. I had to ask one of the bus boys to get me a refill on my soda. Which brings me to my next problem. The first bus boy was fine. But the second one honestly didn't need to be at work that day. I asked him if there was any teriyaki or eel sauce for the sushi. He looks at me as if to say "who does this effing guy think he is, asking me questions." He then rolls his eyes and then makes some @$!# you gesture and says I don't know and storms off. My girlfriend asks me what just happened. I told her I honestly don't know. I thought I asked a decent question, he acted like I asked him his mother's bra size. Whatever, I'm hungry. Let's eat. The noodles were soggy on some parts and extremely dry on others. The sushi was "ok". They had some dish that had crab in it but it was left there way too long. Tasted kinda funny. So I'm eating and I notice that there are tvs on. One TV had the news broadcasting. The other was playing commercials leading up to a movie. I didn't catch what movie it was at first as I was dealing with my oldest, she loves sushi. I looked up to see a small child about the age of mine watching tv. There are a few families there as well. What I saw next was completely unacceptable. The movie was twilight, and it was the one where they had a love making scene and they were breaking the bed, literally. I immediately got up and asked the staff to turn the tv. They said that it was family tv. I informed them that my family does not watch that type of programming in front of small children. Immediately I was disgusted so I picked up my children and left. I didn't know exactly how much the check was going to be so I gave the lady a 20, told her to give the change to my girlfriend and walked out. When my girlfriend got to the van she asked me how much it was. I told her I didn't know but there should have been change. So I go back in and ask about my change. The lady starts to look upset saying that it was my fault because I walked out. At this time there are 4 restaurant staff standing in front of me. I asked her about my change again and this time she went into her pocket and produced my change. Worse place ever I will never return and I will inform my friends to...

My name is Rodney & I am a recovering buffet-holic.

Many were the days I'd hit up the local AYCE for some calorie-laden, gut-busting sessions of food debauchery. Buffet restaurants would be in the red after I was done with them.

However, I've been good. I haven't been to a buffet in awhile. Maybe it's because I'm more health conscious? Maybe it's because I got all that outta my system?

Asian Star Buffet had a coupon in the mail for $4.99 lunch, reg. price $7.99. Knowing a deal when I see one, it was time, once again, to seductively slip on the stretchy pants.

Beef & chicken are the options over at the Mongolian BBQ section for an employee to cook on the spot. Plenty of vegetable items, such as garlic, bean sprouts, broccoli & onions. I don't know if it was the quality of meat or the cook taking too long with it, but the beef turned out rather tough. Knowing it's a cheap buffet, I wasn't expecting much but after 1 plate, I was done with the Mongolian BBQ.

Hot items had food catered to American tastes - pizza, chicken wings, apple pie, broccoli beef etc. Other selections included various soups, mushroom chicken, buchi & baked salmon. Nothing impressive, but decent.

The sushi section simply had variations of California rolls. I was hoping for some tuna and/or salmon, but alas, only the "vanilla" of sushi rolls here.

However, the desserts section was a winner! Macaroons, creme puffs, cakes, watermelon and other items to appease the sweet tooth. Also included, a froyo station with 4 flavors - chocolate, vanilla, banana & strawberry. Definitely not Yogurtland quality, but the chocolate wasn't bad.

Lots & lots of seating! Enough for your family reunion. Enough for both your neighbor's family reunions. Enough for your family's, your neighbor's families & your cousin's, sister's, brother's family reunion combined.

Service was good. My attendant cleared my plates ASAP, and made sure I had plenty of water to drink. Plenty of parking.

Asian Star Buffet is an okay Chinese buffet. I wasn't enthusiastic about anything offered during lunch. There are lots of buffet options closer to me. I suppose if you're in the area & want a cheap lunch, then perhaps this is the right place for you. As for me, I don't think I'll...

1 star for service. The guy demanded a tip! Today we went in for lunch, started ok we got our drinks and our food. Service was not great, had to ask for a straw because he forgot to leave one. It was around 2pm, not busy and it took a while to get a refill on water, we were ignored. Usually they promptly bring the check, today we had to ask after sitting there about 10 minutes. The guy passed by we had no more food and the place was almost empty, still we had to ask for the bill. Paid part cash and debit, he got the cash and card and I was asking for my aunt for a senior discount, he ignored me, charged regular for the 3 of us. Tips should be based on good service and attention, he did not deserve a tip. He ran up to us at the front something about the receipt, my friend had paid on her debit card. My aunt and I proceeded to go out. As I was driving across the front runs to the car, says no tip! My friend had left, I had paid for 2 buffet $20, water only. I've told my friends and family, I will not be going back anytime soon and hope this doesn't happen to others. Bad service and then demand a tip. There's also a language barrier which...

Not too bad of a selection. I just feel that some of the heat lamps need to be turned down a bit for some of the food. You can tell some foods are just over baking under the lamps like the salmon, honey mayo shrimp, orange chicken, and etc. It kills the quality of the food and the buffet in general. I got an egg custard bao and there was literally nothing(really) in it which was kind of comical. The beef dishes seem to be too sweet. The sushi section was pretty nice, the salt and pepper shrimp was just ok it needed more flavor but had the crispiness. The chow mein was sadly bland as well. A lot of the buffet was one note and didn't taste authentic. Pretty average Chinese buffet if you know what I mean. It was $19.99 for the weekend price. With inflation going on I don't see myself recommending this or coming back. I'm a foodie so I had to try this spot out for once.

I recently visited Asian Star Buffet in Paramount, CA. Compared to the buffets I have been to in Los Angeles, I would give it 7/10. They offer a wide selection of everything from sushi and sashimi to shrimp, fried rice, crab legs, lobster, pizza, salad, chicken, fish, ice cream (pistachio, cookies and cream, vanilla, coffee!), and more. I enjoyed almost everything they had a bit. The pricing is very reasonable for budget-conscious diners or hungry groups, especially given the volume and variety available. The dining area and service stations are generally clean, and the seating areas are comfortable and well-maintained. However, when I tried to use their restroom, almost all the toilets were in a mess except one, so they need to pay attention to that. There is enough parking, and the inside is not crowded and noisy, which I like.

Worst experience ever. My kid's food had bugs on it and they still want to charge me. I will be take legal action against this. The manager wanted me to pay after I show the staff what was in my kids food. I have the money to pay but hell if I'm gonna pay for something as nasty as this place when I talk to the manager he said that things like that happen every now and then I mentioned that that was not supposed to happen at all. He said that was out of his control
