Ono Hawaiian BBQ — Restaurant in Paramount

The quickest service ever, place my order, was told 10 to 12 minutes. Walked to the fountain machine filled my cup and my # was called...not even a minute? Sat to enjoy my dinner (nothing special about this food, really) chicken, spare ribs and beef, white steam rice and great macaroni salad. While eating, observed a staff stocking the plastic silverware from a sealed/sanitized package into a plastic holder , using her bear hands no gloves (food safety-ServSafe) another staff washing the plastic trays on the hand washing sink station...(food safety). My observation shows a lack of training and follow up by management, upon one most important aspect in the food industry, food safety! For a recent opened location, observing such lack of basic food safety procedures been followed up is concerning. Definitively, this location won't see me back to patronage them. Consumers, must become wise and knowledgeable upon basic, established procedures for food services operations, and are not negotiable! Do it...

Mahalo! Our quest for a tasty meal brought us to Ono Hawaiian BBQ Restaurant in Paramount, California. The food and flavor of Ono's Hawaiian BBQ had us reminiscing about our meals in Waikiki. You can't go wrong with delicious Hawaiian inspired food like BBQ Chicken, BBQ Beef & Kalbi Short Ribs served with rice & macaroni salad. It's a fusion of Hawaiian, Japanese, Korean and American dishes all rolled into one. No indoor/outdoor dining at this time but the restaurant was well lit, clean with a welcoming atmosphere.

We ordered the Chicken Katsu which is crispy breaded chicken fillets served with special Ono Katsu Sauce. We added two orders of their meat lover’s favorite, the Hawaiian BBQ Mix which is BBQ Chicken, BBQ Beef & Kalbi Short Ribs. We also ordered the BBQ & Katsu Mix dish, which is BBQ Chicken, BBQ Beef and Chicken Katsu. One star should be 0. I ordered 1 plate of teriyaki chicken breast and 2 kids meals with teriyaki chicken breast to go. spent 35 dollars. Got home and was super disappointed . The chicken was either raw or just not good and didn’t even have Teryaki sauce on it. Me and my family did not eat our meals . I even put the chicken on the pan at home to cook more and the chicken was still a rubbery weird texture . I should have known the food would be trash when it was ready too fast. The chef definitely rushed the chicken. We will not be returning unfortunately.
