Charleys Cheesesteaks and Wings — Restaurant in Paramus

The food is good....if you actually get what you order. We stopped in for lunch while shopping. Clearly outlined on the menu board is a Chicken Cheesesteak with onions, peppers, mushrooms, and cheese. We ordered one of those. Our first clue should have been when the cashier asked if we wanted lettuce and tomatoes on it (which isn't part of the description). My husband said no, I want it exactly how it shows there and pointed to the menu board. Our receipt didn't print due to an issue with the printer. When we got our food his sandwich was completely wrong, not what he ordered at all. So he brought it back to the counter and the cashier and another woman proceeded to argue with him that it WAS what he ordered, so he read the description off the board again and she said no, it's this, and opened a paper menu to show him a completely different sandwich! They agreed to make it for him again, so he waited. It came out with no visible onions or mushrooms, just a few diced RAW peppers (not sautéed as the description of the sandwich states). He brought it up again, this time a man helped him, and said "Oh yeah the mushrooms are probably there, they're just diced up really fine that's why you can't see them." That was it. He asked for a refund, which they did give him no problem. So my husband and I split my sandwich which wasn't really what he wanted either as I had ordered something completely different, but he needed to eat. We will likely not return to this location, because if you're going to have completely different things on the menu board vs the paper menu behind the register, you need to know as an employee what you're ringing up, charging the customer...

Everything was good till I looked at my receipt. They threw a tip on my receipt without any consent. Also, they do not provide table service or any kind of service industry staples so why the tip? The sandwich was good enough where I was definitely coming back but now there is no way. Because of their greed, those two dollars are going to have go a long way. I thought the price was a little on the high side, but figured it was just the current state of inflation. Once I got home and looked at the receipt properly, I realized the problem. What gets me so angry is that they may as well have reached into my pocket and pulled it out regardless of the amount. A warning to any of you who have gone there and still have your receipt, check it out because you would definitely charge fifteen percent on your bill including tax...

I've been to other locations and they were all horrible! This one was clean, the service was fast, but Not only was the service fast the food was perfect. The last ones I went to barely had any chicken on them and I got the chicken. California cheesesteak. A small one only because I wanted to try at each location. When I tell you the one at the Bergen Mall is by far the best one and they are the friendliest people and they look happy to be there unlike other places! Not only that, it was a full sandwich. It wasn't a teaspoon of meat on a small that was shoved to one side and then loaded with cheese and ranch instead of actually putting the good ingredients on it. Hands down. Best location I've been to! Can't wait to go back...
