Sorry to say I didn’t love my experience here as much as I wanted to.
We had a reservation so we got seated quickly, which was great. All staff is friendly, but some are more attentive than others. The whole experience is supposed to be slow so you can have time to sit and chat with your party, but this just wasn’t something I liked, your experience may vary. Our server wasn’t very attentive, silverware was forgotten, leftovers were taken to be boxed but never brought back, and the server spent plenty of time talking with other tables.
The dipper (what I got) isn’t labeled as a sandwich and there wasn’t a grain of salt on the meat, the dipping sauce, or the fries (which looked amazing but were profoundly bland).
The bread pudding (not my first choice but most other dessert items weren’t available) was also incredibly bland and very burnt.
The restaurant was extremely loud and it was difficult to hear what people were saying. When this restaurant was designed, not much attention was given to sound dampening as most of the surfaces are flat and hard, with the exception of one curtain along a wall. The manager on duty also did nothing to quell the conversations that were echoing so loud I’m sure someone could have eavesdropped from outside on the sidewalk.
Don’t come here expecting to spend less than $18 (not including drink or tip). Nothing here is cheap, and I don’t think you get what you pay for.
Overall it looks nice from the outside, but I’d think twice and/or to lower your expectations when...
Read moreNice atmosphere. Tried the bread basket and the pimento cheese skillet with chickpea bread as a starter. Chickpea "bread" was very greasy. Pimento cheese was delicious. The cornbread was very sweet. Drinks were great. Lavender Collins was delicious. Pinot noir wine was very good. Entrees, the meatloaf was great. Steak frites...meat great, fries overcooked and slightly cold. Apple tart for dessert. No flavor, very disappointing. Service, I understand that you have high-school students working there but, bring a glass for the bottle of soda, should not have to ask for that. When you clear a table take the bread and unfinished food of first, then plates. When everyone has finished, take everyone's plates at once. If you are going to be an upscale restaurant, train your staff to be upscale as well. Over all, nice visit but you...
Read moreEverything was amazing from the food and drinks to service to decor. We had the fig appetizer, delicious. Wedge salad, perfect. Our table shared Everything so we had the salmon, redfish, hanger steak, French dip, and meatloaf. I'd recommend the redfish over salmon if you're wanting fish. The sandwich was delicious with their thin onion rings. The meatloaf was circled in bacon! The hanger was the most tender meat I've had! For dessert choose bread pudding! The drinks were amazing too. My favorite was the espresso martini! Servers were very attentive. Even though it was packed, the food came out without much wait. The decor made it feel like we were out of town in some swanky high dollar place. We'll be back soon. Tell...
