One of the rudest experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. We literally walked out without ordering after how we were treated. We drove over an hour from out of town to experience Paris Mannequin Night for the first time. This place seemed less crowded to eat at. We understood it was crowded but we were seated immediately. We waited 30 minutes and nobody even came to our table to GREET us, much less even get our DRINK order. We asked if someone could get our drink orders after waiting 20 minutes. We were told “when we have time”. We waited 10 more minutes before we stopped another young lady (the one with bloody hearts around her eyes for Halloween) for someone to at least take our drink orders. My son, husband and I just wanted to at least get some water while we waited for someone to take our order. This young lady looked my husband straight in the eye, no smile, and rudely talked down to him. She said “WHEN we have SOMEONE available to get your drinks, YOU’LL GET THEM”. She then walked off. So very rude. If we had even been politely GREETED with a “give me a few minutes and I’ll be back for your order”, we would have been fine. But that blatant rudeness (along with seeing a table that was seated AFTER US get their food when they couldn’t even greet us or get us some water to our table), was more than enough for us to get up, walk out, and we will NEVER EVER attempt to eat her again. Train your employees to treat customers with kindness and respect. There is NO EXCUSE for talking down to kind and polite customers that just want to be...
Read moreUnfortunately, we arrived just as an event on the square was breaking down and everyone was trying to get lunch. We were seated right away but then had to wait for our server to be free. I ordered a dinner salad and grilled chicken sandwich. Hubby got a bacon cheeseburger, no pickles. We shared a basket of fresh cut fries.
Let’s start with hubby’s meal. His burger was well done. He felt the burger to bun ratio leaned towards too much bun. He only ate half of it.
For myself, I requested a dinner salad As a starter. Our meal arrived 1 minute after my salad. The salad consisted of chopped hearts of romaine, a few chopped tomatoes, three red onion rings and shredded American cheese. The ranch tasted like bottled dressing.
My chicken sandwich looked good at first. When I cut it in half a yellow-orange sauce came out. There was no mention of any sauce in the description. When I tasted it, it did not agree with my taste buds. When I ask about the sauce and why it was on my sandwich, I was told it is a garlic sauce that is put on all the grill chicken. I requested that they remake it with just grilled chicken, cheese, and bacon, no sauce or bun. When it came out, it was delicious.
Finally, the fries were fresh cut in house. Hubby said they came out piping hot. I didn’t get to them until I finished my salad and they were luke warm; still tasted good. Overall, I would give JAXX a second try just to see if it was just our visit or...
Read moreAfter an afternoon of storm chasing we ended up in Paris. Paris is definitely the jewel of East Texas. We found Jaxx just off the center of the historic. Downtown. Place is light and bright. I ordered the inferno burger without onions and a side of frys. Daughter is a vegetarian. We knew we might face a challenge get a vegetarian option here. She was told she could get any salad without the meat. But we would still have to pay for the meat! She enjoyed the salad and the order of frys she had ordered as well as the Dr. Pepper that the waitress quickly filled back up for her. My burger was lack luster. It really should not be named The Inferno. The pickled jalapeños were not even close to hot. And the "inferno" sauce tasted like a Heinz bbq sauce they put smoked Chipotle sauce in. Also charged .25 cents for the burger more then the menu stated. The patty was big but not as big as the large ciabatta like bread it was served on. They did have an average selection of Dallas area craft bottle beer. Community Mosaic was only $3 on this night. Missing was Tupps, Armadillo Ale, 3Nations, Martin House etc. It's a half hearted attempt at craft beer representation at best. My real complaint. My side of frys was $1.99 and my daughter's were $2.99. And I paid for the meat she did not eat. My Beef patty was thin and overcooked. Included is a copy...
