Hungry Amigos — Restaurant in Parkersburg

The service was good and when I went it wasn't too crowded. The restaurant itself is bright and colorful. The menu is pretty typical for a Mexican restaurant. The food is nicely priced and so are the drinks. The food tasted good and was nicely prepared. It wasn't as hot as I would of liked but that was fine and nothing to fuss over. I wish there was a bit more cheese in the taco but it was still delicious. The tamales and enchiladas tasted great. I loved there was an option to have cheese on the burritos, however I didn't know it was an extra cost, but well worth it. The margaritas are good. The pina colada was from a mix but I thought it tasted good. I also had the mango which tasted almost like a fresh mango. I also got dessert and was very happy with it. It tasted great. I got the banana one which had a scoop of icecream slices of banana and strawberries covered in chocolate and carmel sause. There was also dessert tortilla chips covered in cinnamon. The chips are similar to the bowl some deep fried icecreams come in. The dessert was probably my favorite part just because it was something new and different that I hadn't had before. Overall it was a very positive experience. I just wish there was more seafood options and dishes with actual crab in them. A blue crab meat chimichanga would be awesome. But besides my desire for more seafood thus place was well worth the visit and time. I plan to come back while I am in this area to enjoy more of the tasty...

To be honest I was very disappointed with this place. However that may be simply because the high standards set by my visits here prior. In general this has always been one of my top three places to eat in Parkersburg. The service is always nice and the people friendly and welcoming. This time it wasn’t the gas. The food was mediocre but not terrible. The staff was especially cold and rude to me tho. My server not so much. He never offered me napkins for my messy meal and didn’t stick around long enough for me to mention it either. I never got a drink refill the entire visit. He is clearly a rookie lol but nevertheless a good kid. The hostess was hasty and rude and the other staff that walked by glared at me with hateful looks. The best Mexican food in Parkersburg no question. The waitstaff is on-point, no empty drinks or empty chip baskets. I swear our food came 5 minutes after we ordered it. As busy as they were, I couldn’t believe that only 2 servers could handle the entire restaurant so well without falling behind. The owner even hops in and helps out with refills, delivering food, and seating tables when she has to, and she stops at every table to check in with customers in between.

One thing you have to try is the dessert. The offerings here are unlike any other Mexican joint in town. The Bananillas are incredible.
