So, I want to start off by saying this, i left a 1 star, because people naturally tend to flock to bad reviews first, but my expirence was far from a bad. However, it is sad that people will tear down a business because of personal preference or taste, because it doesnt taste like their moms or grandmas, or simply just to validate their opinions. It is also sad that either majority of the people that write distasteful reviews don't know how cook at all, probably don't even clean their chicken.
Now, when dining here, I knew what to expect because the server i had explained that so there would be no confusion. Not to mention, i asked questions about things that spike my curiosity. I settled on the butter chicken and garlic nann, and it was very pleasant. I definitely will be back to try some more items. I am not a big drinker, but the server recommended the Jay's Old Fashion, and it was smooth like butter. 10/10. The resteraunt itself was beautifully decorated, and I feel like the music had variety, which is something you don't experience at every establishment; how ever I will say they should play more indian music just because that makes more sense to me. Also some of the food is priced a little high, but again, just my opinion.
But as I am about to write my review I also had to read what others said, because I am always curious. Now, I am the type of person who doesn't base my whole experience on the words of others, because people are so intentionally rude and disrespectful. Not for nothing, if wasnt for the fact that some of the people that reside in boca didn't come off so stuck up and righteous, I would frequent this area more often.
It's takes so much energy to write a bad review, instead of just letting the server or the managers know of your issues, and again these same people are quick to twiddle their thumbs to write an elaborate essay of a review because they are thoughtless and entitled. These same people, who would rather crush someones spirit, then be an adult, because instead of just aproching someone and explaining your indiscretion or frustration, they do more harm then good by tearing down the business and the staff.
But what shocked me the most is that the Indian people that come on here; really blew my mind. It's takes so much time to write those reviews, and in that same breath you could express that to someone after your meal; ESPECIALLY BECAUSE IT IS FOOD FROM YOUR COUNTRY. I rarely run into rude or mean people from India, but some of them that are now citizens of the United Stated are just that, rude, and the review definitely proved that point.
See the moral for me is, I choose to eat out every once in a while, but I rarely leave reviews, because as a business owner myself, I wouldn't want to tear downs someones business publicly. Its no different then someone bulling your child. But what really shocked me is the people who are from India would contribute to the tyranny. You should be more encouraging because they are trying to make an effort, but I guess that besides the point, you'd really just rather slander your own. SMH. Its really sad.
I wish Bar Bombay so much success. I did see a response that you all will be going a more traditional indian route, and I hope when you do some of these negative nacys can put a butter garlic nann sock in it. But some words of advice, take the words of others with a grain of salt. The people that love the food, will support you, even if it isn't from the Indian-American people. You guys are on to something beautiful. See...
Read moreWest Boca has been in desperate need for a great Indian restaurant for years now. There used to be one in Mission Bay, but unfortunately it didn't survive after few years and then covid happened.
I stopped in for the first time after flirting with it for a few weeks now. Service was great and all the people there were super-friendly. The decor is awesome as well. I'd imagine they previously owned Naked Taco as it felt very similar with some new wallpaper, the great mural and lighting fixtures but overall the same ambience.
The food was decent. Truthfully, I was just happy to have an Indian restaurant nearby. The nann bread tasted Publix store-bought nann bread and seemed more like a mini a pita. The spinach dip was fantastic but the nann portion was off in contrast.
The portions are fine. I do think the drink prices for this demographic might be a bit higher. It's going to be hard to compete with Lynora's, so the drink prices shouldn't really exceed the entree prices in my opinion.
The chicken tikka masala was ok. Not memorable for sure. The chicken felt a little over cooked and bland. But my biggest gripe isn't the average food, it's the atrocious music they play at this place. Music is ALMOST as important as the food at restaurants like these. It creates the ultimate vibe and each restaurant has it's own personality. Does this place want to be a Miami club? Because that didn't work-out well with Naked Taco in this very residential neighborhood.
I'd work on the perfecting the food, tweak some item prices and focus on the ambiance at this place. It's almost always empty which is not a good sign and it could be for one or all of the reasons I mentioned above.
I'd encourage them to explore something on the downtempo, lo-fi sound or even a little jazz/soul. If you wanted Indian music, there are a plethora of options as well. There is nothing worse than spending good money on mediocre food and the music blasting is god awful.

My reply to the owner.
I'm happy you received my email. I did send it on 9/25, less than a month ago but nonetheless I'm glad you received it. Just wanted to clarify that timeline since you said it was months ago. Also, being that you are cognizant of reviews and seem to reply, which I admire and think is very professional - the email should have received a reply too. Best of luck and I'm happy you tweaked those things...
Read moreOverall we had a subpar experience at this new establishment. The restaurant is very vibey and looks inviting and unique. Service was underwhelming and the food is definitely over hyped and not true Indian food and we understand they might have to tone it down for the client base but we still expected flavor. We waited 10 minutes to even be greeted at an empty bar with 2 other people. Bartender just walked up and down and passed me multiple times until I just had to try to stare into his soul to be acknowledged. I saw the bartender running to tables and back to serve the bar and not sure why that is happening , the bar is definitely understaffed. Multiple people were complaining about waiting 30 minutes for a cocktail as we did as well and waited an hour for their food as well. We waited an HOUR for just one item to come out, and then it tasted mediocre 5/10. They forgot our cutlery and plates and served a tiny bowl of rice. We thought we would start with this order and keep ordering if the butter chicken was good and well, we didn’t order anything else. It’s a pretty simple and staple dish so if this wasn’t good it was a good scale to measure the other dishes. One of the ladies who I’m assuming was working management that night did come over and we did express our distaste for the wait and service and food. She was friendly but what could she do at that point? We paid for ALL of our drinks and food and were not looking for anything comped as we did consume it. But it wasn’t even offered. I think this place has potential but definitely needs more staff and a better bartender. He was trying but looked like he was flustered which also makes him take longer. The drinks itself weren’t bad, I think the general lack of customer service and wait time really ruined our experience. Took us from 5:15pm to 7:30 to have one food item and 3 drinks. The happy hour is also a joke at 25% off from 5-6? When I’m hearing other patrons got 50% off for their drinks and food from 5-6? We didn’t want to argue or even bother to ask as we made up our minds to not return. How is the working class suppose to arrive earlier to get a better deal when they are at work? It will be hard to compete with Lynoras right next door which offers 50% all drinks and apps until...
