While they have a pretty good steak, the customer service has gone down considerably. Was going to Media for dinner but decided to pick up something closer to home instead. Ordered by phone and had the girl read the order back to make sure that it was correct. Picked up the food, took it home, and the cheese steak was missing the sweet peppers. Didn't get extra mayo because due to inflation it was almost a dollar more and I have mayo in the house. When I called and spoke with the new owner and explained the issue and also that since the pandemic this is not the first time that the order has come back incorrect, more often than not, he apologized that my order was not correct and then proceeded to do a lot of mansplaining about how they turned the place around on a dime, that they have one of the best steaks in town, yadda yadda yadda, and that he hoped that this wouldn't deter me from coming back as a customer. What he failed to do was offer anything other than provide the missing sweet peppers, which required me to now spend more time and gas to come to his establishment, further inconviencing me. When I asked is there anything that he could do on my next order, he generously offered to give me free sweet peppers, which are already free, or he could not charge for the extra mayonnaise. A simple offer of 15 to 20 percent off of my next order would have been nice for something that I should not have had to ask for since the fault was with his store. Everyone is feeling the effects of inflation especially when you are charging a dollar for something that used to be free like extra mayonnaise. I get it. But when you mess up the customer's order and offer nothing but lip service for the money that they've spent in your establishment, what reason do you give them to want to return and spend more money on a regular sized $15...

Read morePhil & Jim’s has been in existence for 60 years, but management has changed hands. Since they did, the quality has definitely gone down. The old owner, Gus, would NEVER skimp on quality or quantity of the food. He would raise the prices instead. This has been my favorite cheesesteak & hoagie place & I have ALWAYS raved about the hoagies & cheesesteaks from Phil & Jim’s because of the quantity & quality of the sandwiches. Tonight I picked up 2 hoagies & I was upset to see that they have changed how much meat they put on their sandwiches. I think the ham was sliced thinner too. Also, the roll tasted tougher. I see in another response to a review they claim the roll is an upgrade. Definitely not an upgrade! Less meat is not surprising, but disappointing! Hope they realize that if they want to keep people coming back, they need to change things back. This is a place when you go in, you always hear people talking about stopping by when they are visiting or driving through because they know how good the food has been. When I lived in Baltimore, I would ask my mother to get me a cheesesteak & drive it down. She would point out that it would be cold before she would get it to me, but I knew it would be BETTER than anything that I could get...
