A long-standing establishment in the Parkville community. I've been coming here on and off for forty years. I haven't been for a number of years, so while I was in the area recently, I stopped in. I ordered the pit beef sandwich. The bun was doughy, fresh, and kept the juiciness in without causing the bun to become damp and difficult to handle. Bread is an oft-overlooked component of a good pit beef sandwich. Meat was good but a little dry. And the fries were solid. Nothing truly negative stood out to me. This was a good middle-of-the-road pit beef experience.

This is a nice takeout place in Parkville. Got the pit beef and fries with a drink for the combo. The sandwich was on a roll. They offered rye and wheat also which maybe I should have done. The roll was a bit thick which overpowered the beef. The beef was a little more well done than I prefer but it was tasty. The fries were terrific. Boardwalk style. Hot and well salted. Really good.

I've been coming here for 20 years and the food is fantastic. I usually get the Chesapeake chicken sandwich on a kaiser roll with lettuce mayo and onion. I also get an order of poppers which are the best. The lemonade is good as well.

I keep trying bc it's local. I keep trying but they fall shorter every time. This time a rare beef and turkey combo. No roll (I've learned the roll is way too big for the amount of meat). Special soup was lobster bisque. They also had shrimp and corn chowder so I asked if I could have maybe a half teaspoon of each to figure out which one to order. The older woman who seems very unhappy to have to work told me that everything was portioned out and that would be impossible so I took my luck with the lobster bisque. I had also asked for barbecue sauce and horse radish. The guy preparing the sandwiches was young and very friendly but there was also an old grumbley guy who was actually cutting the meat. I got home and my meat was far from rare in fact it was well done with black edges. There was no horse radish in the bag as I was told when I left. The lobster bisque tasted like someone dumped a bunch of booze in a pot and stirred it around. No sign of any lobster meat but had it tasted OK it wouldn't have mattered. I had to call to explain because I was not in a position to run back with my food which I should never have to. If you can't get the pit beef correct at a pit beef stand you're destined for doom. I called and the grumbling woman answered and just very matter of fact said that she would put in a credit for me. I will use the credit but that will be the last time and it's a shame because I have lived in Parkville for 43 years and we need another pit beef place or we need someone to take...

RUDEST STAFF EVER. I felt like our cashier would rather we just leave than bother her with our order. I was actually concerned they were going to do something to my food after I asked for a cup of tap water (so I could take medication while we ate in the car since this is a drive up only joint) and she said she had to charge me $3.00 for the cup because that is what their cost for the cup was. Girl, you think I haven't worked in food service? I don't like being LIED to or extorted. I don't know if the restaurant is just trying to make ends meet--and think shilling their customers for tap water is the way to go--or what. I get it. COVID really screwed restaurants over and they are really struggling. Fine. Post a note that says "Show us some love. Tell your friends, ask about our take home and freeze options. Covid hurt us. If you love us, support us."

If I saw that, I would come every week and do my best to support the business. But being lied to by the cashier who was visibly disinterested in taking our order (never even talked to us while we were waiting to order....we finally said...um...can you take our order) made me not want to support this business anymore. $3.00 for a cup of tap water because that is what a medium cup costs them is bull**. I've been coming here since I was 10. I'm now 48. I doubt...

I have been a faithful & happy customer here for decades. Since the pandemic they have suffered as a small business & I m always in favor of supporting the small local businesses. On Ravens Sunday I wanted to surprise my wife w/a rack of baby back ribs ($16.95/whole rack only). Left at halftime. I got 2 racks & 10 Buf wings (can only buy in quantities of 10!!??). Guess they didn't want more $ for in-between # & just add price for ea addtnl? The wings were really good but could have used a little more Buf Sauce, but very good, juicy, tender & lg sized. The ribs were just disappointing. Spent $34 on ribs that were not fresh, tough, did not come off the bone, dry & of left over taste. Have over a rack left over & not sure if they w/be eaten unless I try to slow cook in lots of sauce to improve what was always a good experience. Never experienced this before! The large cup of fries were $7.50 & could have been better. I spent over $60. I like the CG & it's rough edges & it's history of good food. Terrible to think but not sure if I w/go again after 30+ yrs. Can't stop freshness & support faithful customers coming back! I was the only car in lot, but another came for quick pick up over a +/-15 min visit. I tried to call 2x but no answer just recording abt difficult times & that was...
