Iāll only give 2 stars because the food wasnāt as good as people say it is in the reviews, and the customer service was poor when I called back to complain about my order. Why is it these restaurants will tell you one thing on the phone to get you there but do another thing once you order. Then, and youāre left with the food you didnāt eat or did not enjoy and money you lost? Andrew, the manager, actually said bring the steamed shrimp back and weāll peel it and devein it for you. Say what?!? First of all they told me on the phone 10 minutes before I went there that they peeled and deveined steamed shrimp - nobody said you have to ask for that once you order. It was my first time here (and my last) and I did not want to make assumptions so thatās why I called ahead to ask. Second, I ordered a 1/2 pound of steamed shrimp and they gave me one small, very small, container of cocktail sauce for 20-30 shrimp. Really? And the catfish was not tasty. It was kind of tough in some sections and it had a funny taste. Last, the cream of crab soup was FULL of crab shells (more than crab meat in my opinion). Iām still spitting out shells 30 minutes later trying to eat it! Fries and onion rings were the only items we enjoyed. The potato salad was very bland. The least the manager couldāve done was fixed a brand new steamed shrimp order and refund part of our money back for the cream of crab (shell) soup, at the VERY least. If he had been customer service-oriented, I would have at the very least, considered returning again. No worries. Iāve always given my name even though I still had my receipt. Usually pay with plastic card but paid with Apple Pay today. Came to pick up my order and the older lady asked for my receipt. I very humbly told her I accidentally threw away my receipt in the trash can literally right before I picked up my order but I pulled out my phone to show her my Apple Pay receipt. Apple Pay showed the date, time, and exact amount of transaction, just not the items. She didnāt even try look at my Apple Pay to compare with their receipt. She literally stood there and chastised me loudly multiple times stating, āYOU NEED YOUR RECEIPTāā. Iām just looking at her crazy and thinking like bith just look at my Apple Pay! Like Iām not going to go digging in a community trash can to go get a receipt for some $40 crabs. After chastising me loudly multiple times, she then proceeds to say I can just go to one of the registers to get a copy of my receipt. Really bith?! Am always impressed with the level of service provided their customers - whether it be on the phone or actually in the store. My crabs have always been right on point as well as the other seafood items they offer. I routinely order my crabs via phone and then pick up. Can honestly say that I've never had to wait a long time and my crabs are always ready at the time they tell me or very shortly thereafter. I have never been unhappy with anything that I purchased - until recently. This past weekend while waiting for them to bag my crabs "hot from the pot", I ordered a fried shrimp platter which was according to the menu was suppose to be "fantail shrimp". I was quite surprised and disappointed when I found my shrimp to be what I determined to be regular shrimp that had been deep fried (as it should have been) and had very little batter . Please correct me if I'm wrong as I may be mistaken as to what a"fantail" shrimp looks like. Lat me add that this does not change my opinion of Don's as even though I has not happy with my platter, the weight and taste of my crabs was just what I expected it to be.
