Sofas ETC — Local services in Carney

I had been hoping to try out some different versions of the Ekornes Stressless chairs and Sofas Etc in Towson had the ones I wanted to try on their floor. I drove all the way from Annapolis and it was worth the trip to find out that the one I thought I would like was not the one I wanted. Karen took care of me at the store and went through many of the available options. Choosing the right Stressless chair is not as easy as it should be. Too many styles and variations within the same chair. I did choose a chair I liked with the Signature base. They did not have this version on the floor but I liked the chair and thought that jsut changing the base would not make a difference in the chair. Karen wrote up the order and I drove back to Annapolis. When I got home I looked at the chair online with the Signature base and noticed that the configuration of the arms changed quite a bit with the different base. The arms are attached in a different way and were not what I wanted. I had to call the store and speak with Karen to change the order to a different chair. Karen did an excellent job but frankly this line of furniture offers so many different styles and options that it is not possible for anyone to know what one change will make in the chair itself. Ultimately I will have to hope I love this chair since it is not something I can return or will ever buy a replacement. I am at the point in life where I do not expect I will every buy more furniture and what I choose now has to be comfortable and more than capable of lasting the 20 or so years I expect to be around or at least upright. We shopped around for a couch for a few months and ultimately decided to shop locally at Sofas Etc. rather than online. They had stylish reasonably priced couches that could be customized. Toni was our sales person and she was really knowledgeable and helpful. We had pretty specific needs and she showed us two couches, one of which we really liked and ended up ordering. However, when the couch arrived it was the model we did not select. Being that the couches were so similar, it was an honest mistake on Toni’s end. The part that upset us was when we went back to the store the day the couch was delivered to resolve the issue. When we spoke with Jeremy he made it clear that he did not have to do anything to help this situation and essentially it was our fault for not noticing the wrong model numbers on the invoice. We got no apologies, no explanation, and were afraid we would be stuck with a couch we never wanted in the first place. Eventually we were told that the correct couch could be exchanged for the one delivered but at a $250 fee. This fee seems arbitrary due to the fact that we paid $100 for the first delivery already. I hate to say I wish we would’ve just ordered online. It took 15 weeks and $250 to get the correct couch. We give 2 stars because the couch and chair we got are beautiful, but needless to say I will not recommend or shop at this...

My wife and I were in the hunt for looking for new furniture for over a year. We looked diligently and visited many stores in our local area and online. A few months ago we visited some friends of ours and noticed their amazing new furniture and enquired where they got them from. That is when we learned about Sofas Etc. Karen greeted us and gave us the run down on everything pertaining to the store. She was extremely knowledgeable and professional and let us take our time browsing. She was not pushy and only engaged us when we had questions. Karen taught us the different qualities of leather and yes we noticed the difference to the feel and touch. All these years buying furniture and someone finally took the time to explain leather grades. We had our furniture for over a month now and we are still talking about our investment as we sit in the living room and look at each other and say "oh how comfortable this feels".
