My friends and I stopped in at Stone Canyon Pizza for dinner last Saturday night, and had a marvelous time!
We knew that "Parkville Days" would be happening the same night, so we called a month ahead of time for guidance on timing our visit. Since they don't take reservations, we were concerned about a possible crowd and a long wait time. They were extremely helpful; the young lady said that prior to 6 pm it would most likely not be so busy, and if we called about a half-hour prior to arriving, they would take down our name so that we'd be closer to the top of any wait list.
Sure enough, when we called prior to arriving on Saturday, the young man who answered the phone assurred us there would be no waiting at that time (5:15 pm), and to just come on in. We arrived and were seated immediately.
Our dining experience was fabulous! Maci K was our waitress, and she was friendly, efficient, and very helpful in guiding us through the menu and our possible choices. I had the special that night--the Sriracha Honey Pizza--and, since it was happy hour, a well drink. My friends split a Garden Pizza and each ordered a small salad. All our food was quite delicious--I LOVED the sriracha honey pizza!--and just the right portions.
Everyone working at Stone Canyon was wonderful! From the first call I made to inquire about timing, to our arrival call that day, to walking in the door (many thanks to the hostess who advised me about the daily special!), to ordering and enjoying our meal--from start to finish, it was such a pleasure! I even went back to the restaurant after we left because I'd forgotten to fill my water bottle, and the nice young man behind the counter filled it up for me--with ice!
We are now HUGE fans of Stone Canyon Pizza, and we'll be back every time we're north of the river! Thank you all for such a...
Read moreTruthfully! The Pizza is bland in flavor and not tasty as mentioned in many of the reviews. I believe the reviews are from people that know the owner of this establishment/restaurant. Please serve fresh food to every Customer whose paying to eat the Pizza, appetizers etc. at this establishment. Seeing Pre-Made Holes in the crust is not an original Pizza! Its Overpriced Pizza and the frozen appetizers taste frozen from the local grocery store freezer section! We relocated here recently. We decided to give this place a try based on the reviews (We found them to be misleading). We ordered the buffalo chicken bites and they tasted like they came from the frozen section at the grocery store and were dropped in a fryer of over used/old frying oil. We also ordered the Grand Canyon Pizza it was slathered with pizza sauce (tomato sauce) where we couldn’t even taste the remaining Ingredients included on the pizza due to the overwhelming amount of Pizza Sauce (Tomato Sauce). Gave this place two stars because the lady that took our order was super sweet and courteous. My suggestion, change the oil and ease up on the pizza sauce to at least give the customer the full experience of fresh tasting food. We are not sure if these reviews are accurate, however, if you order a Pizza or appetizer from this restaurant beware if you prefer fresh food, good flavor and clean oil. This is my honest experience, serve customers with the quality they pay...

While driving from Philadelphia PA to Denver CO my son and I decided to take a break at a B&B in Parkville MO - a small midwestern town with no stoplights. Honestly our east coast mindset told us to lower our expectations. Stone Canyon taught us a lesson in humility. Fresh top shelf ingredients combined with card and an honest appreciation for taste delivered a top notch, casual dining experience. When a town only has ONE pizza place, the quality can easily go down, but not in Parkville. In Parkville, they decided to excel.
Street parking, clean surfaces, sound dampening panels and great lighting. If you are driving through MO, do yourself a favor and stop in for a...
