☕️ Historic Downtown Parkville☕️ Last week I headed to @mainstreetparkville to check out some of the local shops on Main Street. I’ve been to @parkvillecoffee so many times over the past years thought I would share it with all of you. Here are my highlights below 👇 ☕️ @parkville_coffee has their own coffee beans that they roast out of facility just a couple blocks away. They are a locally owned, small batch roasterie, coffee shop. ☕️ I absolutely love their second floor space. There is mid century, modern furniture, games, and even an old dial up telephone that many kids can’t recognize these days. ☕️ I typically order one of their signature lattes. They have pastries, as well as @meshuggahbagels in stock. What’s your go to coffee order? Where should I head to next? Can you believe it’s May?! Jana from @adventuresinmomlife_ and Amy from @everydayoutdoorfamily have teamed up for the best family fun this month! Kansas City Northern Miniature Railroad: This adorable mini train with a fun tunnel is great for little kids. It’s 75 cents a ride (cash or check only). It’s open weekends throughout the summer. Strawberry Picking: Jana at @adventuresinmomlife_ posted a strawberry picking guide with local u-pick farms and Amy will post one later this month! Check those out before you go. Parkville: Grab a coffee at Parkville Coffee before heading over to Parkville Mini Golf for family fun! Stop by Popculture for gourmet popcorn and ice cream! Pose with the murals on Main Street and then walk along the river and play on the playground at English Landing Park. Fish Feeding: Feed the giant carp at Blue Springs Lake, Lake Jacomo and Longview Lake. It’s $3 per cup at the marinas. Bison Saunter: Prairie State Park, about 2 hours south of Kansas City, will have a free Guided Bison Saunter on Saturday, May 7, starting at the Regal Tallgrass Prairie Nature Center at 10 a.m. Hike through the tallgrass prairie with a knowledgeable guide. Registration is required, and there is a limit of 25 participants. Call 417-843-6711 to register. This Coffeehouse has an exquisite atmosphere that gives a homey vibe. It's a quick walk from the park so that's rather convenient. The service was quick and so we didn't have any time wasted. I'm sure their food items were good but we only had a coffee and a chai latte. They also have a cute coffee bar where you can add extras like cocoa powder to your drink. The chai and coffee we received were hot, which was rather nice. Unfortunately, it was so hot that you can feel it burning your hands even with a coffee sleeve on it. In this instance, they might want to lessen that a bit before they end up with a McD lawsuit. In addition, I ended up throwing my drink away after trying several sips but the blend of chai they had was too strong. It tasted like I was putting a spoonful of nutmeg in my mouth with every sip. The bitterness of that made the drink inconsumable. Overall, a cute place and probably good food but they may want to moderate their temps a bit better and work on their chai blend.

My husband and I stopped by Parkville coffee after a walk at the trailhead. We thought we would describe a quick snack and Be on our way to go to the grocery store and then return home. We waited 15 -20 minutes to order because the staff had somehow overlooked another person's order. The woman stated she had been up there several times to check. As it had been about 45 minutes since she ordered and people that ordered after her head received their food she finally went up to the cashier to check. They were trying to sort this out while we were waiting. I believe they finally found her order and refunded her money. They should have offered to make her food again and refund her money, But they really seemed to make it seem like it was her fault and not theirs. We were finally able to place our order. I decided to make it simple and got a small strawberry smoothie and a protein ball. My husband however ordered a sandwich and soup. My smoothie was whipped up and served to me in a reasonable amount of time. I drank it slowly and ate my protein ball. And we continue to wait, and wait, 35 minutes for my husband to get his food. He paid $12 and got a 1/2 a sandwich and a 1/2 a cup of soup. I don't think he realized that he was getting a half of each. This was the lunch special, There was nothing special about it. I could have gone home and made him a whole bacon spinach tomato sandwich for 1/3 of the cost. I have a whole 12 oz package of black forest bacon that cost me $4.99. Anyway he ate his snack And we were on our way. As we were leaving he stated that he remembered now why we quit ordering food when we go there. The drinks are fabulous, As are there ready-made food items. But, I doubt that we try to order anything that has to be prepared in the future. It's not really worth the wait...

I have never in my life left a Google review on any establishment, but Parkville Coffee has earned this one. I try my best to avoid this place because the experience is never good, but gave it another try today solely because Incahoots down the road was closed. The staff acts as though they hate their customers, never greeting anybody and never saying thank you (I regret leaving a tip) and they seem to feel nothing but contempt for their clientele. The owner responds to low reviews claiming that customer service is important to them and the staff will be informed, but obviously this is never taken to heart as this has exclusively been my experience every time I've has the misfortune to patronize Parkville Coffee over the years. Working for my family's small business, it is astounding to me that Parkville Coffee is still open, as I would be out of a job if I treated my clients with this level of disdain. We were not singled out for this treatment, every other customer in the building was staring at their shoes and seemed afraid to talk above a whisper. In hindsight, I should have just made my coffee at home, it would have tasted like actual coffee in stead of watered down milk and my Keurig doesn't scream woke leftist talking points and platitudes at me. It's not mandatory to advertise your political opinions to everyone within shouting distance. I'm not being hyperbolic, seriously, the signs are ridiculous. If you're looking for coffee in Parkville, please patronize Incahoots or the Please Stop! gas station down the road. You won't immediately learn the political leanings of the barista, and you'll be treated like a paying customer as opposed...

Absolutely my favorite coffee joint anywhere... and I've been to a LOT of coffee shops! I will drive 45 minutes from where I live to go to Parkville Coffee because their coffee is THE BEST, their food is DELICIOUS, and the atmosphere is AMAZING!! I appreciate and fully respect the owner's commitment to community safety all through the pandemic, despite what a stress and strain it must have put on her as a business owner. I find any business owner who puts the safety of their customers and employees first to be a true upstanding human being, as it's a wonderful breath of fresh air to find a business that isn't just in it to make max profit. As a parent of a child too young to be vaccinated for covid, I ESPECIALLY appreciate the fact Parkville Coffee still requires masks in their shop as that definitely goes a long way to ease my mind regarding my child's safety and lets me still enjoy my favorites here. The fact I've seen a few low star reviews for this wonderful business come in lately solely because of masks still being required inside is gross and disgusting... how completely SELFISH can people be!?!? The fact remains that Parkville Coffee is hands-down one of the BEST coffee (and food, and service) places in the Kansas City metro area and does not deserve to be beat on simply because they are putting the safety of their customers and employees first!!! If you are a decent human being who can recognize there are other people in the world besides you, you will...
