We stayed at a little motel down the street and saw this in the “recommended restaurants” section of their welcome binder. The place was quite darling and had a hometown feel for sure. The wait staff were friendly, attentive and they were so sweet with our son. We were a little underwhelmed with the quality of the food however. The roll was quite dry and, for the vibes the restaurant was giving, we expected something more homemade but it was disappointing. My husband and son got the steak dinner for 2 for $25 with mashed potatoes. The steak was a 6oz and cooked okay. They did enjoy it but the mashed potatoes were cold and very dry despite being covered in gravy. I got the chicken cordon bleu with a baked potato and steamed veggies. The potato was warm and came with butter and sour cream on the side which I appreciated. It was delicious and well cooked. The veggies were steamed well but those were also cold. The chicken cordon bleu was a bit disappointing. The chicken was cooked well but there wasn’t any flavor and it was just a thin breast with a thin slice of ham and cheese on top. It did come with a side of honey mustard which I did not use. It was good but nothing to write home about. The place did have a small gift shop that sold jams that were house made and had other little trinkets for purchase which was cute. It is almost like a small town version of Cracker Barrel. Our waitress was amazing. She was attentive and kind and knew the menu. She spoke to our son and gave him a small bowl of vanilla ice cream because he was behaving so well. Overall the food was alright but the service...
Read moreDelicious food! And loved that strawberry rhubarb jam, had to buy a jar to go. It really was good on the fried pickles as suggested! It seems on the whole the flavor profile leans toward liking black pepper, like the clam chowder it was heavy and the chicken fried steak it was detected. We also got the fish n chips and those were good. More of an adult breading on the fish, but the child loved the fish inside and the fries were nice. The pancake was a real hit and the bacon cooked really well to our liking. When we're back in Parowan, I'd happily try it again! Love the homestead decor and searing, mix of chairs and drinking glasses, and the kids each got a container of crayons and a full coloring book to entertain them until food came. Water came first after sitting then asked for any further drink orders, then the apps came really quickly, and food an appropriate amount of time after that. Seat, eat, get check, and pay at exit. Restrooms are quaint, with old toilets. Really family friendly...
Read moreThe location is not on the main street from the highway but we enjoyed driving down a few holiday-decorated blocks to the intersection where this restaurant is located. Farther down that street was the Mountain View Lodge. The dining room was small but it accommodated a party of 10 in the center and about six other smaller parties at the same time. Husband and I ordered the ribeye steak to share from the chalkboard menu and added onions and mushrooms for a small charge. The waitress was kind enough to bring us two rolls and I'm so glad she did. Baked potato was served with butter and sour cream in individual plastic containers, which struck me as odd, until I realized that they held more than they looked like. Probably the first time I've gotten all the butter and sour cream I wanted! Husband ate up the warm blueberry pie but I did manage to get a few bites and it was good. Nice location with items for sale outside the restaurant, and inside, nicely decorated interior, pleasant and...
