Long John Silver's — Restaurant in Pasadena

On my third stop doing a food tour, My sister and I decided to sail our way to Long John Silvers, having heard of some praises from famous people on the internet about their chicken, naturally, the inner foodie in me was intrigued.

Upon my arrival, I was greeted with a warm welcome, and a mouthwatering aroma of fried chicken and fish. The staff were above and beyond amazing in giving us time to decide what me and my sister should try, we ended up ordering the fish, chicken, and shrimp platter to try all of their items all at once, and I was not let down in the slightest!

My man behind the grill was working incredibly hard keeping up with the drive through and for our order, and everything was cooked to perfection.

When you think of Long John, you think of fish, and probably a bad notion of fish, but believe me, that's not what you're getting here. No. You're getting probably the cleanest, most mouthwatering, crunchiest, and freshest fish available in fast food. Seasoned and cooked to perfection, as well as their chicken. You will not leave disappointed. Also the cheesecake, it's a 10/10. Everything here, is a 10/10.

With Long John slowly disappearing, I hope that this location can set the record straight that having proper people who are passionate behind the counter and the grill, make all the difference, and I wish other locations would be opened like what we have here. If you're having doubts, RUN don't walk to Long John because you are missing out on absolute golden, Crispy goodness. I have ate there twice since my visit last week, and believe me, I will keep coming...

If I could give zero stars I would. I show up at the drive thru at 8:50pm. They close at 10pm. I sit at the drive thru for 5 minutes. No response. I then drive to the window for another 3 minutes. Nothing. I make a circle around the building and finally see an employee inside the dining area. She motions me thru the drive thru.

I go back through and finally they ask what I want. I tell them the salmon dinner and wait for a response. After 30 seconds of silence they respond with my total but that they are out of rice. I said no problem what can I get, another side no big deal, the response blew me away!!!!

Wait for it, she said, "no substitutions allowed" Wait, what??? Is this Candid Camera? No substitutions for something that they are actually out of?? So they want to charge you full price for something they don't have and then not allow you to have anything else instead! What a brilliant business model! This was a side item? How much a loss would a side of french fries or green beans be as a replacement? My mind is still blown away.

Zero chance of ever returning to this restaurant!

Fun fact - went to Popeyes instead and they forgot my chicken nuggets & didn't notice until I got home. (At least that has happened before. Lol)

Long John Silvers is one of the last of the old small school chains. Like many smaller chains like Hardys and Big Boys, it never reached the heights of Micky D 's or Burger King. With changing times it struggled to hold market shares as Hardees and Big Boys closed. Lack of customers caused some remaining sites to sell freezer burnt fish and fries with flat pop as the one I experienced in Pearland before they closed. The long Johns in Pasadena TX is going strong like it did in the past. The inside was spacious and clean. We saw multiple drive-through customers, but the inside had only one other customer. It was clean with modern details. The staff was curtious and very friendly. The food was made fresh and brought to our table. The fish was perfectly done and not overly greasy. The same for the shrimp which were back to being actual shrimp as opposed to the ahromp they tried in the past which were the long and round made of pieces of shrimp with a shrimp tail at the end. It was so refreshing to experience this great piece of America alive...
