Yesterday while I was at work in the City of Pasadena I asked around if there was something good around to try, and I got recommended one specific item which was Lamb sandwich with grilled eggplant and olives . Personally I don't eat lamb but the fact that it comes with eggplant and olives which I love them plus was recommended I decided to go for it. Being my first time When I arrived I was totally surprised, place looks amazing and clean, I saw thru the display many cooked items I believe they are for the variety of food served here or by the pound I'm not sure, is a deli-mart place. Which has cookies, candies, drinks, wine, muffins, frozen food and more. The girl who helped me is very friendly, very helpful, the service she provided me was perfect can't denied. Now the recommended sandwich part, well it's was a big amount of lamb in a baguette with 2 slices of eggplant and the olives which i didn't feel any half cut nor sliced one, it was more like the olive juice with slightly minced olives , I didn't feel the taste or flavor of olives till I was halfway done with the sandwich. Honestly and personally I would be more exited to try a meaty sandwich if the sandwich has some mayo, some greens, grilled veggies and not only bread and meat and 2 slices of eggplant . The eggplant was perfect. Now I'm not complaining, this is only my opinion, is nothing personal or bad to anyone, nothing against anyone not the cooks , that's the way the sandwich are done here I'm totally fine. Many people love them that way. Now the price part, I just got the sandwich to go , I think was $ 16 or 17 bucks, if anyone dining in, probably expected to pay with a drink $20 to 30 but if they serve wine then you do the numbers.

This place is very quaint and airy. The eatery had open aired sitting. It's a casual dining experience, the price is a little high for the food they serve. Nothing stood out or had a wow factor. The have a wide selection of food, but the one that was recommended by lot of reviewers was the kobe roast beef sandwich, which you can make a combo by paying 11$. This meant that you can get a side salad or a soup of the day, I chose the salad. I was very disappointed with what I got. The sandwich was bland, and the bread tasted stale. After 3 bite, I decided I didn't want to waste anymore of my daily calorie allowance on it. So I started on my salad, which was very very disappointing as well, the mix green salad looks dirty as heck. It had the look of salad that was deteriorating because of the water that it came into contact with. So I spent most of my time picking out the gross looking greens, and really only ate the tomatoes. To make matter worse, I sat next to an employee who was on her break. The whole time she was cursing and retelling the story of her horrible date from the previous night. Half way through my meal, I decided to leave because I didn't want to hear anymore of her rants. It was very unprofessional. Why can't she have this convo somewhere else?

Stopped by for lunch with a couple of coworkers the other day. It’s a small, charming shop that specializes in sandwiches, but they also sell a variety of Italian pantry items like pasta, sauces, sodas, and other imported goods. Definitely worth browsing while you wait. I ordered the Artisan Salami Sandwich with a side of macaroni salad. The sandwich was really solid. The fresh mozzarella added a nice creaminess and kept everything moist. The macaroni salad was just okay for me. It was a bit too mayo-heavy, though the olives and pickles helped balance it out. I also tried their 7-layer dessert bar, which was rich and tasty, although a little on the sweet side. There’s a nice shaded outdoor seating area if you want to dine in, which makes it a pleasant lunch option on a nice day. It does get busy during the lunch rush, so ordering online ahead of time is a good idea. The only downside is that it feels a little pricey for what you get, but overall it’s a solid sandwich spot with good vibes and quality ingredients.

I’m giving 2 stars because anyone spending their hard earned money to support a business needs to be respected. I’ve been to this establishment many times and I enjoy the food, but there is one person in particular who rings up the orders. The last two times that I’ve been there she was downright rude. Unfortunately, these two times have made a lasting impression on me If I want to continue spending money there. This is a young girll She is supposed to be the head Cashier so I would expect for her To give all customers an experience where they want to come back. I witnessed her change, her behavior and attitude towards another customer, but when it came to me She was curt, Annoyed, She practically threw My bag of food to me as holding the handle with two fingers and stretching her hand out to me and forcing the bag in my hand, As if I had no business In there. And I remember this particular person because she had the same behavior the last time I was there. Except the last time she asked me as I was standing at the counter, waiting for my food. She actually said to me Do you need something else? Why are you standing here?. Excuse me, I didn’t know that I needed permission to stand at the counter That I just spent money at. But it was that same hostility, it was a quiet hostility that she gave me the 1st time that made me remember her. I don’t know what her problem is or what issue she has with me in particular, because my experiences there have just been like any other customer order Pay and leave. I’m beginning to believe that this is a personal issue that she has with only certain people. I was very Disappointing to have someone else’s issues or drama put on me. And I will be Giving it some real thought if I want to experience that type of inappropriate behavior again for the sake of their food. 2025 no more tired of the negativity, tired of the hate tired of the inappropriate behavior, not accepting it anymore. Porta Via The demand better from...

All false in the reply from owner and unacceptable. Order was placed well within the 48 hours. And I would have taken NO as an answer, but hanging up on a customer with a large order... and not getting a call back. Anyone would be upset. I will leave it to others to see for themselves how this place is going downhill.... fast. Whoever this person is that replied was not part of the chain of communication because they are not describing the events that took place leaving out conveniently what they felt like. I am well aware of the COVID impact and support our local restaurants. But most are grateful and communicate with their patrons, not hangup or waste their time... and don't call the customer back. Yes, there are supply chain challenges for sure, but you have a major training of employees issue and communications with customers needs some improvement. It's a shame that I and friends who have frequented Porta Via have been been impacted by your poor business practices. But the damage is done.

Not even sure where to start with how bad this place is. Rude workers. I don't care how good the food is, if you have bad customer service then your business will fail. First call... person picks up and says hold on then says call back and hangs up.... yes really!!! Later call back. person transfers me around... person takes order, and then puts me on hold several times. and tells me they can't do the order or that it needs to be done this way or that way. That they person would call me back tomorrow, person never calls back. Speak to manager,,,, supposedly and nothing but attitude and gives every excuse in book as to why they can't do it. WOW. I had a birthday catered from this place. You have lost a customer and I will share my experience with all. Meanwhile went to Julienne and they are way easier to deal with and their online order works, their website works. and they have nicer people working there and their food is better. Take your business...
