Not too friendly but we need to eat. 2 other workers and myself ended up here for lunch. We were told to scan the menu and order, the guy who is there didn't even asked us if we were familiar with the food, didn't even gave us a recommendation or any help at all.,one coworker tried to place his order and my other coworker but somehow he couldn't add the order to cart, however I was able to do it, I added our order to my cart, once I enter my card info, I didn't get any notification that our order went in. At this point we already got water and utensils, which the person who brought them left them in one spot without giving us individually. My point is that is not a fast food restaurant where ourselves have to grab whatever we need . Back to the order part, after waiting for around 5 minutes or more I was trying to have someone to come near and ask about our order. Finally the same guy I don't know his name, was around and I waived at him and asked if our order went thru , he checked and sure enough didn't go, at this point were there for like 20 minutes and he finally offered to help us to place our order, thanks for that. I was surprised that sudently the place was busy. Another thing I'm really shocked about is the fact that when placing the order most of the items we have to pay, like if anyone wants corn, green onion, bambu , mushrooms etc in the ramen is $ 2.50 each item, and the egg I believe is like 4 dollars, plus 19 dollars ramen, adding this to the order anyone is expecting to pay easily 30 dollars or more with a drink. Last but no the least my noodles were slightly undercooked, the broth was pretty good can't complain, and for my coworkers to be their first time eating ramen they were happy with their food but were unhappy with the service, nobody came to ask how the food was or if everything was good nor even got water refill. If anyone decides to try their ramen you r more than welcome to come over. Good luck . Now this is nothing personal is just my personal opinion. Our comments are not to...
Read moreNothing really hits the spot than late night ramen! We had just gotten out of a late night at the studio, and we're hankering for something delicious and filling to eat.
I've heard of this place before, but never came in- for the area in Pasadena its pretty standard (expensive), you help yourself to the tablets on the side and pay for your items and take a seat. So, if you are socially anxious, this could ease some of anxiousness when ordering some freshly ordered ramen!
Had the opportunity to try the Bold Ramen, which I believe is their signature tonkotsu ramen, with a good hearty cuts of fatty pork and a dense broth. It's very filling, the texture was decent, and the flavors were good. They had a ramen burger I was so tempted to try- so I'll be sure to come back and try that...
The location is situated in a small plaza, so parking isn't usually a problem, especially at night. Great that they are one of the few places that closes that late in the area! Until midnight, it's unheard of nowadays!!
The mural they have on the side of the walls look to be commissioned as there's a signature and date on it- thought that was a nice artistic touch! Another little detail was that the bowls are all different: get to the bottom, and you get a unique message, so finish slurping those noodles!
Overall, good ramen fanfare that opens late, is clean with decent service with a very...
Read moreBig shout out to the general manager on duty who showed tremendous judgement and an ability to be flexible today.
To set the scene, my wife and I brought our 9-month old and 3 year old daughter to the area for a new years hike. While we waited out the rain we came out for some ramen. Since we had our dog with us, we decided it would be best to move 2 of the tables outside together so that we can enjoy a meal together. No more than 5 minutes after we ordered, we were greeted by this over ambitious general manager who forced us to move because we were blocking the walkway. Never mind the fact that it was drizzling outside, never mind the fact that it was 55 degrees outside, never mind the fact that 3 feet to our left (see the picture) another group of 4 did EXACTLY THE SAME THING. We were not allowed to stay and had to return to our car where we finally enjoyed a cozy meal together.
The food was adequate and lived up to expectation but none of that matters. We won’t be coming back. It’s bad enough that we couldn’t enter the restaurant (our fault, after all we brought our dog with us) but for this GM and the staff to act so rudely towards me and my wife when there was MINIMAL foot traffic in the area means that we will happily take our business to a friendlier place; like maybe right next door.
Happy new...
