Horribly embarrassing experience on my 20th anniversary! Sadly stereotypical LA, look-down-their-nose attitude towards me and my family, while the entire bar, kitchen and hosting staff staring at us! It was humiliating! I had made an online reservation, but needed to change it because our kid-minder canceled, so I called to change the appointment. The person on the phone was lovely, but could not change the reservation, but cancel the original and reschedule another. It was two days prior, so it seemed okay. I cancelled my original from my phone and accepted the new reservation. But when we arrived, they said they didn’t have the reservation. And they moved on to the next person. The rude host finally agreed to call around, but said we could sit outside i the cold, because OBVIOUSLY they were full and couldn’t accommodate us! That’s when the kitchen staff started to stare at us! Was it because we had our child, but I’ve taken him to some well-known places and they don’t bat an eye! When I pressed her, she said it was the computer’s fault and that there was nothing to be done. And turned her back to us. Then she tried to throw the person who took the new reservation under the bus! We didn’t raise our voices, we just sat there, disappointed. So we ended up at Bistro de la Gare in South Pasadena. They were also booked, but made room and made is feel special and welcome! All I asked was for some decent service. If you don’t have the room, possibly offer to make a reservation on another night, and maybe some drinks while we figure things out… even just water! No food here is worth this! I felt like one of those horrible movie scenes where the punk young staff think they’re better than everyone else and in front of my kid! Rude, rude, rude! Not inappropriate. But very aggressive, pushy, and unpleasant. I don’t write negative reviews. This was bad enough to make...

My recent visit to The Parkway Grill in Pasadena was truly exceptional! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the elegant atmosphere and sophisticated décor. The dim lighting, crisp linens, and refined ambiance set the tone for a special evening.

But what truly stole the show was the incredible cuisine. We indulged in the succulent lobster, which was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The portion was generous, and the presentation was stunning.

And don't even get me started on the desserts! The decadent chocolate cake was rich, velvety, and utterly divine. Each bite was a masterclass in texture and flavor.

Throughout our meal, the service was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Our server expertly guided us through the menu, offering spot-on recommendations and ensuring that our glasses were always full.

Overall, I highly recommend The Parkway Grill to anyone seeking a refined and indulgent dining experience. With its exceptional cuisine, elegant atmosphere, and top-notch service, this restaurant is sure to impress even the most...

Parkaway Grill is a popular American restaurant now irrelevant in 2021. Their service is slow. Our table as well as all the ones around ours waited 45minutes to an hour to get our food. Their menu comprises of typical American dishes of unastonishing flavor, but it’s not hard to figure out why Amerians with low food culture speak highly of this place. They have some special outlier dishes like duck or their Michelin CATFISH. Their duck sauce flavor had very American thanksgiving undertones and yes the catfish sauce had a nuanced taste, but I could easily get the same level of subtle contrasts in homemade Moroccan food, that said I think that whole cuisine deserves a Michelin if this place can pass for one! Finally I have to complain about their bread. The bread crumbled in my mouth like an old cracker, were these loaves made in the Middle Ages? The presentation made me laugh. But don’t take my word for it, go try this place just to skip the FOMO, then take your money to any other restaurant, there are better and newer flavors awaiting you in LA’s changing restaurant scene.

Great restaurant in Pasadena if you are looking for a dining experience with great service. We always start out with the bread basket which comes out with a few different types of bread and salted butter. We have also tried the shrimp and tuna tartare appetizers which are also very flavorful and fresh. The menu is similar to a typical upscale steakhouse with various cuts of beef and sides but I think they shine with their alternative meat options. I have had their ribeye, pork chops, Chilean seabass, chicken, short rib and now their lamb chops and the lamb has probably been my favorite. Perfectly cooked and accompanied by fresh asparagus and rich potatoes. They also have rotating items on the menu if you are looking for something different. The shoe string fries are also a crowd pleaser as they are crispy and delicious. Parking is all valet out front which eases having to find a spot in Pasadena.
