Yakiya at Pasadena continues to deliver an unparalleled dining experience, echoing the excellence of its sister location. With a pre-fixe menu that promises culinary delight for every palate, this restaurant remains a go-to destination for special occasions.
While the quality of the food remains impeccable, it's worth noting that the prices have seen a slight increase. Nevertheless, considering the exceptional dining experience offered, it's a worthwhile investment for those seeking to celebrate in style.
During my visit, each dish surpassed expectations, showcasing a harmonious blend of flavors and textures. The wagyu with egg dish stood out as a personal favorite, elevating the dining experience to new heights. And let's not forget about dessert – the white chocolate with matcha filling was nothing short of sublime. Its delicate balance of sweetness and earthy notes provided the perfect conclusion to a fine dining extravaganza.
However, one aspect of the dining experience that could be improved is the atmosphere. The restaurant's lively ambiance, while adding to the energy of the space, also contributed to a significant noise level. This made conversation with fellow diners challenging at times, particularly for those seated across...
Read moreTl;dr amazing food, amazing staff, great environment, service timing still working out the kinks but very good.
Excellent new location for Yakiya. The pre fixe food is delicious, each course blends well into the next one, and they provide little palette cleansers throught the meal to ensure you can taste everything with a fresh experience. The service timing was decent but you could tell things were still coming together with such a recent opening, first fre courses had long gaps between them and then the middle was bunched and a bit rushed, and the end was all good.
The beef options are all excellent, each cut unique and cooked to perfection at the table in front of you. The seafood is clearly amazing quality and seasoned such that it brings out the natural flavors without overwhelming. The rest (veggies, cleansers, drinks) were good but none of them were amazing. The drinks are standard quality cocktails with normal fine dining prices. They gave us a free glass of Sake for our anniversary and a little extra printed pastry with dessert, very nice touch to go with the...
Read moreGreat food in very small portions at a very slow pace! Food is excellent and the table service, once you get your food, is great, but OMG, it took a very long time to get the food!! We did the set menu, and it seem all the tables around us were doing the same thing, so you would think things would move faster!! We were seated 20 minutes after our reservation time, about 10 minutes before the waitress showed up, another 10 minutes before the first morsel of food was served. Restaurant is very noisy, so we really didn't hear the waitress when she said what the food was, and then, it was a very slow pace to get the rest of the little dishes -- yes, portions were very small, delicious but very small! Table service was impecable, they kept the water refilled, but at the end, after $200 for lunch and a still hungry husband, I don't think we will be coming back -- after we left Yakiya, we stopped at a chain restaurant for my husband to eat something else, as he was still hungry after we...
