Came here on the recommendation of a friend. They raved for a solid 10min about how good the food and particularly the Cubano is. As I was down the street I decided to stop and grab one myself. Located next to the latin food market, it seems the cafe recently changed hands? I had never been before and was surprised how big it is. I assumed it was like a deli counter in the back of the store, but it's a separate, but adjoining restaurant. I ordered the Cubano to go and browsed around the grocery store while I waited. Ended up with some plantain chips. It was empty when I arrived and my order was prompt but not fast food quick. First off this felt like a $15 sandwich. They told me it was a two sitting meal and this person is almost twice my size, I could feel the heft walking out with it. I've had non traditional Cuban sandwiches before and this one blurs the lines a little more than most. Other than ham and cheese on a bun, I can think of no other similarities. I could not tell you what mix of condiments were present, but I'm sure mustard wasn't one. It was not pressed and no pickles. Seemed more of a tripleta variant. It wasn't bad but seemed muddled. None of the meats or cheeses really stood out, it all kind of just blended together. And even with all the condiments, it was still on the dry side. Their menu is large and they have other things I would like to try. I'm guessing proportion size may be a thing which would justify some of their prices. Even a half size of this sandwich alone would be more than enough for one person.

The food was on point. This is not American's idea of a Mexican restaurant. So go in with an open mind. Ordered a la carte. They have a quick menu and a 'cook to order' menu. I got the carne asada tacos (flour) and carnitas tacos (flour) along with tostones, beans and rice. The rice is plain white and cooked well. The serving is enough for two. The beans were flavorful and with plenty of broth. The salsa for our chips was very tasty. The chips themselves were either stale or overcooked. The tostones were cooked perfectly and I even had ketcup-mayo for dipping. Again, serving was large. Favs were carnita and tostones. Staff was very friendly. The staff did not speak English. My Spanish is VERY shaky and the menu is in Spanish. HOWEVER, with a translate app, some patience and a little courage you can get a great meal. If they had an English version, I think there would be a line out the door!

I ordered a combo of 3 tortas which were supposed to be small. I was able to eat one and a half. I loved Al pastor meat. I am Mexican and I can say this tortas are good. They are located inside a super market where you can find many Latino stuff.

Puerto Rican guy here. Been 2 times with a coworker hyping it up simply because it's carribean food some of which is Puerto Rican. First time we ordered 4 beef empanadas/pastelillos and 2 cheese dogs and literally all 4 emapanadas were frozen like bro. Embarrassing. 2nd time I ordered Carne Frita and some rice and beans and the pork had been fried so long that mess what pork Jerky so I ordered a pincho from outside and instead of giving me one of the grill Ole girl came out the back of the restaurant area with one. Disappointed. Need to take anything Puerto Rican off of that menus fam we don't claim people who can't even serve a a fresh pastelillo. Our food is too precious to be...
