If i could give 0 stars, i would be very disappointed in the behavior and discrimination exhibited with the Hilton staff and management this past weekend. The police were called on my family after we gathered in the library to fellowship after the banquet held in your hotel on Saturday night, July 22nd. We were advised by J. Wells Furniss, "we needed to go to our rooms because another guest called the police and bypassed her because we were too noisy. We were never asked to leave or keep any noise down. My aunt asked one of the officers if she could speak with him. He said, "Yes." She asked, "Upon entering the hotel, did you hear any noise?" He said, "No." And about eight to 10 minutes later, two additional officers arrived on the scene. And no more than five minutes after that, the sergeant arrived, and at that time, she spoke with the sergeant While she was speaking with the sergeant and commending Officer Landry, the General Manager Tammy Moore (who was the same person to tell my aunt she could go to a different hilton if she's a hilton memeber after an disturbing encounter with the maintenance) stormed inside of the hotel and screams out, "I WANT THEM TRANSPORTED OUT OF HERE." We were all offended and shocked by her comment and behavior as if we were not all paying guests most are Hilton honors members and really had no legitimate reason for the police to be called. Tammy then proceeded to explain to the sergeant that the maintenance man (Dean) broke the latch on her door upon entering her room unannounced while she and her kid was asleep; a little before 9 am Friday morning. (Which, in my opinion, should have been said in a more confidental setting and irrelevant at this moment.) Where is the Customer Service here displayed by the employees involved, or the actions exhibited the entire weekend?? 100% satisfaction guarantee was not displayed and Hilton was not ready to welcome me and my with unrivaled hospitality, backed by an award-winning Hilton Honors guest loyalty program as I believe that it is Hilton's motto.
How can Hilton make this right? Refund my family the money spent on the Friday and Saturday night banquets...
Read moreThe hotel was nice though the room had a few issues. I did very much appreciate and love the housekeeping while I was away without my having to request it (emptying trash, vaccuming, tidying up the bedside tables; making the bed, replacing towels, replacing cups/other items used). I also appreciate the option to add purchases from the cooler and behind the counter to the bill to pay at checkout or pay immediately. The major room's issue is the black and red mildew in several places of the shower; that had me questioning the quality of cleaning/sanitizing/ disinfecting, so that is why 2 stars are removed from the rating. That's a major concern since not only are we still dealing with various viruses but those areas are major sources of fungal infections. I actually brought in my Kaboom Mold & Mildew Remover spray and sprayed the areas; it helped quite a bit, but that's still gross and shouldn't be in a hotel, especially one of that caliber. Also, the rubber part of the shower door that stops water from running out of the shower was loose and actually hanging in one area (as well as being stained by red mildew smh). The shower head seemed to have different settings, but I was quickly disappointed when those settings were all the same with only different water pressures from the outermost areas of the shower head lol smh. There was dust behind the bedside tables/dressers (potential allergens), and the lighting was dim even with all the lamps on (but that's personal preference, I suppose). Regarding staff, the black staff members were very helpful, friendly, genuinely welcoming and greeted me, but the white staff members said absolutely nothing smh (potential racism/discrimination definitely costs the rating 2 stars smh). I'd visit again, but only if I have no other, better choice and will be sure to respectfully mention any issues as they occur...
Read moreWe used this hotel for our high school reunion, and on the whole, it was not a good experience. The communication throughout the process was not good. We spoke to 5 different people throughout the process and received conflicting information multiple times. The final person I spoke to was very rude, quite unnecessarily. The night of the event was fine - the head event coordinator was very friendly throughout the evening. However, they took the $1,800 worth of food away an hour early without even telling us they were doing so. After the event, they charged us $186 more than what was on the contract. The following business day I called them and they said they'd give us a refund. Two hours later she called back and said she was not going to give a refund but could never clearly explain what the additional charges were for. At one point she claimed it was over Mexican Dip, but the story changed after they decided to change their mind about providing a refund. I've never received an invoice from them with the total that matches the amount we were charged. After a back and forth, I contacted the GM and left a message. She did not return my call. I called again and left an additional message, and she has not returned my call and it's been almost two weeks. I called again today and the front line employee was extremely rude and aggressive, which has mimicked my entire experience with this hotel start to finish.
We brought 86 people into town and had multiple people staying the night in their rooms for this event. I stayed two nights, and the hotel is unclean - borderline gross. The beds are hard as a rock with pillows that are uncomfortable and left me with a headache. The decor is outdated and the environment is junky.
Bottom line - choose a different venue for your event. I'd suggest Magnolia Ballroom - don't make the same...
