I had previously left an overwhelmingly positive review on here for Viera's, but felt the need to update based upon an experience I had there a couple of weeks ago. my daughter and I stopped by Viera's following an appointment in the area, and while we were a little taken aback by how much the prices of individual pastries have gone up, we didn't really stress it, just picked out a few items and headed up to pay. so, before we walked into the place, I checked on both of my cards, verifying that I had funds. I had plenty. we go up to pay, both cards are declined, over and over. I verify, while standing in line, on my phone, that I have money. I have it on the screen. they claim it's denied. the cashier doesn't speak any English and can't give me an explanation, which is fine, I won't hold a grudge, but the manager came in shortly after this whole thing started, wouldn't even acknowledge me or my questions or give me an explanation. I know she speaks English, I've heard her speak it. not only in past visits, but when the woman in line behind me offered to pay for my order, the manager told her, in English, that it was the internet, before switching back to Spanish to speak further. guess what? her card went through just fine. she was using a credit card, I tried both debit and EBT, but somehow the Internet worked fine for her card, but not at all for mine. I went to a gas station and the grocery store within minutes of this, within a mile of Viera's, and used my cards successfully. I really think they just wanted to embarrass me for being small and white and unimportant. I really have no reason to lie about this here, it's embarrassing now and was mortifying then, in front of my teenaged daughter. it was the first time I've ever felt truly unwelcome in Viera's, and will be my last visit ever. the reason it's taken so long for me to post this is that I don't want to. it's such a small incident, and Alot of people will potentially say I misinterpreted the situation or whatever. I didn't. good luck selling your dried-out pastries at $4-5 apiece when you treat people like garbage. this is not an attack on Hispanic owned businesses or people, just these two employees at Viera's. my thanks to the woman in line behind me who graciously paid for my order even though I had perfectly good money. it was an act of random...
Read moreMany thanks to my coworker who told me to check out Viera's. It was a better experience than I ever expected. Walking in I was overwhelmed with the number of sweet options that stood before me. On each wall were tall enclosed shelves that had a glass front where you could see rows and rows of deliciousness! I must've walked around the shop five or six times looking like a crazy woman before I finally picked up my tray and tongs--yes a tray and tongs! At Viera's you are able to pick out all the treats that you want--no side eye from the person at the counter as you try to decide what you want, etc. And the prices are right there in front of you--so many delicious deals!
I was told to try a cinnamon roll, so that is where I went first. Then my eye caught a lemon Danish and that ended up on the tray as well. Last was the largest donut on earth that was hanging out on a tray that they were about to take away. Once you are done you walk up to the counter and they box you up and you pay. For my three items I just paid $6.75! This is such a great deal as this will be breakfast and dessert easily for 3/4 days!
I love that everything here is fresh and not overly sweet. It hit and satisfied every one of my taste buds!
I will be back...
Read moreI ordered for a Tres Leches for my husband’s birthday. They took the order on phone two days before and also took the payment. Great! The next day when my friend called to reconfirm my order as she was going to pick up the cake for me, they said, they don’t have the order! I called them and got everything fixed. On the day of my husband’s birthday when my friend went to pick up the cake and they gave her the cake without a box! Yes, without a box. In these covid times plus who gives a cake without a box? Aren’t these bakeries supposed to have big boxes or heightened boxes for the cakes. Anyway, my friend got the cake in her car alone and obviously the cake got destroyed. I called the bakery and somebody named Sonia kept on putting the blame on my friend and said that she can get the cake to the bakery and they will fix it in two hours. Do you imagine going through this on the day of your husband’s birthday? I was managing so many other things and these people only made it worse. I HATE...
