Hello Foodies, I normally post my review on yelp. But, I want take this time to extend it this google platform. With that said let's talk about, Tortilla Town.
I new to San Luis Obispo and ask a colleague of a good eatery to try. He recommended Tortilla Town, because their tortilla are hand made. So, on my lunch time I went and tried it out.
This is my experience at Tortilla Town. First the food, which the most important part. I ordered two orders of their gorditas. One order was chicken and the other one was shredded beef. I requested everything on it, but had the sour cream and cheese on the side. Because, I enjoy dipping and putting my on cheese.
Lets talk about the chicken gorditas first. The chicken was dry and lack flavor. Even with the toppings that was on them. The pico de gallo was not lacks the gallo. It didn't have a kick. Second the shredded beef gordita. This one was a little better, but that's saying much. It has some flavor, but was not as tender as others I had. It was still a bit dry. Over all its was still bland.
Now the lets talk about the service. It took quite a few minutes for the server to address me. While ordering I the server was very , meh, for lack of a better slang. The server was not really interacting and really lacks the welcoming appeal. It was more here is your order now leave me alone. But, all of that change when a Caucasian customer came to order. With the same enthusiasm as me, but was greeted cheerfully and the server even made some recommendation. Maybe the server have a thing for this customer, but it came across as being peculiar. The server could of just gone through something that may involved someone with my complexion and it did not go well. None the less it was peculiar.
Final thoughts would I recommend this location, well it depends on the person. The food is ok not of quality or taste that I had hope. But, if you enjoy bland with a mild kick maybe its for you. Service wise needs some work. I may had just went on the day the server is...
Read moreThe food is delicious, as always, unfortunately, there was a severe language barrier. I ordered two burritos, one with the beans and cheese inside and the lettuce and guac on the side so it wouldn't get hot on the drive home, they said they couldn't do that. I also wanted the meat on the side so it didn't sog out the tortilla. They gave me a huge side of carnitas for $10, charged me for 2 El Jeffe's, a side order of guac, and put a ton of lettuce in on top of the chicken quesadilla, which completely wilted it and mushed out the quesadilla. I asked for it to be a side of lettuce said no, don't, please, just put it in a side bowl like the guac, they said "we no do that" "no sell lettuce that way" I didn't see them put it in the quesadilla container, found that out later. Otherwise, as usual, the food was fantastic, the place was pretty clean, and the...
Read moreWent into the place 20 min before they opened. The girl was cleaning the drink machine said we are not open yet. I asked what time they opened she said 10 oclock. I said I'll come back. She was very rude and as I'm leaving she said "and you have to have a mask on to be in here." I looked at the people that was preparing food and not one of them have a mask on while making the food that we consume. Do you in your peebrained mind think that if there was a good time to wear a mask would be while you are making the food the public eats. Some people should have stupid tattooed on...
