When we made our order over the phone, you told us that you need 15 minutes to have our order ready. Then we were respectful to the time you gave to us hoping you will also honor it, and arrived in 15 minutes sharp! When I got there, I was kindly asking if it is ready, but you told me that you need another 15 minutes! I was unhappy but also, I was respectful and trusted you (which was my mistake) and waited another 15 minutes. So, it is total of 30 minutes of an order of two Mansaf plates. When I came back and asked if it is ready, you then said to me that you need another 30 minutes! Then you justified that by only saying it is a big order, with any other explanation! That moment I figured out I was dealing with someone who does not respect time and misled me about waiting long and potentially missing my kids picking them up from school and let them waiting me on the street. Then I asked you, why you did not tell us over the phone that you have a big order and you need at least one hour. Because, you actually did call us after placing our order and told us that chicken plate we ordered need extra 40 minutes and the two plate Mansaf need 15 minutes. So, we were understanding and did cancel the chicken plate and kept the two other plates. In this case, the big order came after our order! Otherwise, you suppose to tell us and not be misleading and we were going to understand as we did for the chicken plate! So, after I asked you why you did not tell us over the phone that you have a big order, you started screaming at me first saying I’m sorry and asking me what you want me to do. It is so unrespectful to scream at your customer in front of other customers. Again, your unprofessionalism in work and misleading information you giving us was so disrespectful. I cannot deal with someone with such a bad temper and manner as well as, again, misleading and not considerate to other people time. I will not let my kids wait on the street after their school and need to go and pick them up. Also, it is so cheap and immoral with someone who misleading and dishonest with their time to use what is happening in Gaza in your justification and hide behind telling the complete truth of what exactly happen. Again, this is so...
Read moreOn a mundane Paterson street, the restaurant doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the second you walk in you’ll feel like you’ve been transported into the private leisure chambers of a king from the Middle East. With vivid colors, lamps, and music bouncing off the walls, you’ll want to spend hours lounging in the comfort of this beautiful restaurant.
For as imperial as the interior decor is, the service is not: in fact, it’s actually BETTER than royalty because it is the kind of genuine hospitality you can only find in a loving, family home. The way the owner was talking and treating me, it was like I was his long lost cousin. He quipped and bantered with us like we’d know each other for years, an easy smile on his face. “Pay later, enjoy the food first,” he said after we’d placed our orders at the front. “Are there any sugar free drinks?” I asked. “Water,” he replied, without missing a beat. We all laughed while he went searching for my beverage.
The owner personally brought out our food and even poured the sauce for the “Mansaf” on top for us. We feasted like kings, with the owner continuously checking in on us. If we couldn’t decide between two menu options, he never got irritated. He smiled and gave us both!
As for the food itself, the “Mansaf” is legendary. Along with the tender portions of lamb resting atop a bed of roasted almond slivers and fragrant rice, make sure you don’t forget to douse the platter with the special mansaf sauce. The savory, creamy, and warm sauce will make your mind melt with pleasure.
The “Chicken Mandi” is a wonderfull roasted, savory chicken dish on more rice with roasted almonds. It comes with creamy yogurt sauce and cucumber salad. Definitely also a must try.
I’ll probably find any excuse to drive up to Paterson now. “Kan Zamaan” is every bit as impressive as the sound of its...
Read moreIf I could give Below zero I would the service in this place is terrible! You enter a restaurant and fully self -assist??! No waiter or anyone to seat you just sit wherever u want (if ur smart enough to figure it out)!! If they had a sign or anything that says “help yourself” or “seat yourself” to make it a less confusing experience! I had to go to the kitchen to see if there’s anyone who could help us know where to sit, I also wanted a high chair so I had to ask one of the cooks and she told me “it’s by the door”! So my husband went and grabbed it himself. The good thing is that the food came quick and compared to other Paterson restaurants this one had better tasting food and not bad quality either, we ordered two lamb mansaf and one musakhan, they came with one side of yogurt cucumber salad that no one mentioned anything about, a small bowl of pickled olives and scallions! The food itself was not bad at all but still not compatible taste for Auntehic jordanian food of course! We also wished we had more utensils and plates they literally gave one spoon to each person of us, no knives no forks and no one came to check and ask how our food was or if we needed anything so it’s basically a full self service place! Don’t think worth...
