Authentic Turkish Flavor – An Unforgettable Çağ Kebab Experience!

We recently visited Kebap Lounge on Petersen in New Jersey and were absolutely blown away by the food — especially the Turkish Çağ Kebab. This wasn’t just a meal; it was a full-on flavor journey straight to eastern Turkey!

Çağ Kebab is not something you find easily in the U.S., so when we saw it on the menu, we knew we had to try it. And let me tell you — they nailed it. The lamb was marinated to perfection, grilled over open flame on a horizontal rotisserie, and sliced thin right onto skewers. The result? Smoky, juicy, and incredibly tender meat with just the right amount of seasoning. Every bite melted in the mouth. The spices were balanced — not overwhelming — and let the flavor of the meat shine through.

It came served with warm, soft lavash-style flatbread, a generous side of fresh salad, grilled tomatoes and peppers, and a few dips that paired perfectly with the meal. We also ordered ayran, the traditional Turkish yogurt drink, and it was cold, foamy, and refreshing — a perfect complement to the richness of the meat.

The staff at Kebap Lounge were very welcoming and friendly. They took time to explain the dishes and made sure everything came out just right. The service was fast, professional, and always with a smile. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was cozy and clean, with traditional touches that made us feel like we were dining somewhere in Türkiye.

We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. It’s not every day you find a place that does something this unique and does it this well. Whether you’re Turkish and craving a taste of home or someone who loves exploring new cuisines — this is the spot.

An Absolutely Incredible Dining Experience!

Our visit to Kebab Lounge today was nothing short of spectacular, earning it a top-tier recommendation. From the moment we sat down, the experience was elevated by truly top-notch service and an incredibly generous offering of complimentary treats, including delicious appetizers, fresh bread, and baklava to finish the meal. It really made us feel valued as guests.

The main event was the food, and I can honestly say I had the best meat I have ever eaten. It was cooked perfectly, Cag Kebabi and Adana Kebab is unforgettable.

Beyond the food, the decor was great, creating a warm and appealing atmosphere. Our server, Fesih, deserves special recognition. He was exceptionally helpful and demonstrated superb attentiveness and professionalism throughout the entire meal. His service truly elevated the evening.

The restaurant was clean, and the food was good, but the experience left much to be desired. The Çay Kebab was served all at once—four skewers for $25. By the time we got to the third skewer, the meat was cold, which is not how Çay Kebab should be served. For a table of five, we were only given one piece of bread, and the waiter was not attentive. We waited 30 minutes for our food, despite the restaurant not being busy.

To make matters worse, they had no meze available, even though it was listed on the menu. Our reservation was an hour and a half after the restaurant opened, so it’s unclear why the meze weren’t ready. Additionally, the restaurant was extremely cold—everyone had to keep their coats and hats on while eating, which made the experience even more uncomfortable.
