Mimi's Restaurant — Restaurant in Pauls Valley

Ate at Mimi’s this morning on the way back to north Texas from Riverwind Casino. I just did a little Google search and Mimi’s stood out. I’m always looking for small town treasures when it comes to eating out. Mimi’s is definitely a treasure and we expect to dine there again. We had a complete breakfast…one having two eggs over medium, 4 strips of bacon, two pieces of toast, and hash browns. AND…for “dessert” a short stack of pancakes. All extremely well prepared and delicious. The other diner had Mimi’s homemade biscuits and gravy with two scrambled eggs. We both concurred that the biscuits were really great. One had coffee and the other had whole milk. Everything was really good and I can’t wait to go back. I hope to try lunch there for sure. Lots of good choices on the menu for breakfast and lunch.

Downtown Pauls Valley, about 3 miles east of I-35, is such a pretty small town and the old cobblestone streets are fantastic.

What an INCREDIBLE little place to go. Whether you live in town or are just passing through Pauls Valley on a road trip, you’ve gotta stop here! The inside atmosphere will certainly take you back to a simpler time. It’s old timey and clean. My coffee cup was always full. The menu was simple and everything was available. Food came out promptly, correct, and tasted great. We got breakfast- the chicken fried steak, over easy eggs, biscuits and gravy. 5 stars. A little salt, pepper, and Tabasco makes your plate perfect. The waitress was amazing. My only complaint is you can’t leave gratuity on credit card so be sure to bring cash to take care...

On the 11th year anniversary my grandfather's passing, I am reminded of Saturday mornings at this diner after long treks back and forth from Houston. This was my piece of oasis during a bad time. Over the many years and even ownership change/name change from Netas to Mimis- nothing has changed! The biscuits and gravy alone could cure any ailment or heartbreak, while grandpa always sipped his coffee in a booth.
