I miss the old owner when everything was super fresh. Each time I have been there no matter the day of the week things are never that fresh pastries have tasted stale or just a day or so old. Queijadas de NATA unless you gap Friday you miss out because it won't be as good. I got some freezer food life chorizo and cheese the freezer didn't feel as cold as it should be and the cheese tasted nasty not sure if not fresh or maybe to do with the freezer temperature ruining it. They say its fresh so not sure I know its not supposed to taste the way I did but business will say its fresh just to sell. I rather pay extra and go tremont street to be honest at least it dies taste fresher. The Brazilian girl at the counter should get educated and know where the items come from cheese just because its Portuguese doesn't mean its from Portugal so if asked where is it from she should know if the cheese is from sao Miguel or sao jorge etc. Just stating my opinion based on my experience so far more then a few times. It sucks to have a Portuguese bakery and not being able to get real fresh baked goods and Portuguese dairy ect maybe its because I don't go often so maybe if you want real freshness you must go early morning or every week but still. I have even gotten bread that supposedly was baked fresh each day be stale. Discouraging makes one really miss the way it was run by...
Read moreBought an Easter cookie for my granddaughter today and she liked it…..ALSO bought a chocolate cupcake with white frosting and it was ROCK HARD…extremely stale and had to throw it out. Not the first time lately with their cupcakes. I think the new owners bake Snail too much at once and they are not being sold, but they are rather just sitting in the case, waiting for someone to purchase them and this is why they are so rockhard and stale. Their sweet bread does not taste like sweet bread, but rather like pineapple juice. There was really not much flavor and truly something wrong with their recipe. No one would eat it. Lately this bakery has...
Read moreWhile I haven't personally been inside, my experience being within proximity of this business was quite unpleasant. I parked in a 15 min parking zone, to go into a local store. Took 3 mins. The owner of this establishment wouldn't listen as I explained I would be gone in five minutes. As I left her with a unpleasant word she decided to waste police resources and call them over. So instead of occupying that spot for literally 4 mins I was there till the police came and left 14 mins later. I would not only recommend taking your business elsewhere but recommend you not even park nearby. I'd recommend heading over to D'Orsi's bakery...
