I’m giving them two stars solely for the niceness of the staff and cleanliness of the restaurant. If it was based off of the food alone, it would be zero stars.
We started off with them being out of chocolate milk and the espresso machine was broken. No big deal, we pivoted our drink order. When our food came out, everything other than the toast was cold. Like literally cold; no warmth. The queso, cheese on the eggs, and gravy on the chicken fried steak were solidified. The couple bites I took of the vegetable scramble severely lacked flavor. The hash brown casserole did have one flavor—an overwhelming amount of black pepper. I’m really not sure how they got so much black pepper flavor into it, because it didn’t visually look like it had that much pepper in it. The breading on the chicken fried steak was burnt, and the actual meat was flavorless with an odd texture. Half of the bacon was burnt. The fresh fruit and toast were good.
When leaving the restaurant, we noticed a grand opening sign and assumed that explained the low quality food. The Toasted Yolk has a lot of potential, but the kitchen has a lot of kinks...
Read moreI've been here 3x. The first time we visited the service and food was great. The 2nd time, it was subpar. The server seemed to be very agitated the whole time we were there. I figured she was having a bad day. We got half of our food, and we waited another 15 minutes for the rest. It was only two of us. The third time my gf ordered a drink, the waitress brought her the wrong drink. We politely said this isn't the drink we ordered. She stated, it's not the same but it's almost like it. She took it all while rolling her eyes. Cool, whatever. She never brought another drink, that's fine. When the bill comes, the drink is on there. We asked her to remove it, and she said, "No, if I put on the table, you have to pay for it." No ma'am may I speak to your manager. The manager proceeded to walk over with a little aggression and stated we would have to pay for it. Temperature was rising at this point because it wasn't even what we asked for. She took it off eventually, but who pays for something they didn't order. I...
Read moreOrdered the chicken fried steak and eggs. When I received my plate, it was covered in blood from the chicken not being cooked. My eggs and grits also had blood from the chicken. Asked for the manager. When she arrived to the table, she wasn’t apologetic about it at all. She asked if I wanted something else. I just ordered a slice of ham and a side of eggs and grits. The manager said that I could keep the grits and eggs that were covered in blood which I refused. Who in their right mind would even ask that?!! Finally received my ham and eggs which were cold. Manager comes back to the table stating that she talked to the whole cook line. I was still charged $10 for food that I didn’t even eat. Being a store manager myself, she didn't handle the situation at all. I would NEVER let a customer leave my establishment unhappy!! This was my first and last time coming. They are off to...
