Alumni House Sports Grill — Restaurant in Pearl

This place used to be my favorite place to eat ever since moving to Mississippi 3 months ago. Every time I go I would get the grilled cheese burger and watch sports. They’ve redone the place to be less dark and more like a restaurant instead of a sports bar. They took out all the table TVs and changed their menu. I decided to go there for my birthday to get my favorite burger and I was told they don’t make it anymore. How can you not make it anymore when you sell cheeseburgers and sandwiches? We ordered a appetizer which was good but were forced to eat with our hands because we never received silverware and by the time our waitress arrived back at the table it was gone. We had both drank our water completely and got a refill that tasted entirely different then our first water. It tasted like chlorine so we chose to order a soda which we had to wait through half our meal to order because you literally couldn’t even find a person to wave down. Speaking of which when you did get a chance to talk to the waitress she would run past the table and talk, very disrespectful. I ordered a salad with Italian dressing and got ranch, so another long wait to fix something. I will definitely never be going back to this place again. How can you afford to redo the entire place but not equip your restaurant with staff members or at least staff members that will appear at their tables at timely manner and...

I’ve been here before and didn’t have the best experience bartender Ashley is always so nice but my server was not. The name on my ticket is Ansley and she was so rude and not helpful at all. She probably came to my table a total of 3 times. I brought some coworkers here several times she was rude and inattentive every single time. I honestly don’t know how she has a job in customer service. Now the only time I come is if I see Miss Celeste working. She is always so friendly and welcoming and just a light to this establishment. She recommends things and is always right about them from the bar to the food. She is know knowledgeable about the menu and just makes you want to try everything! If alumni house ever lost her I would never come back. She is honestly a joy to be around and has the best set of customer service skills I have ever encountered. She is so encouraging to other staff as well. Always running around helping everyone. There need to be a staff full of her! I hope this review makes it to the head of this company so they can personally thank her for carrying alumni house on...

This star represents the food... because the service was horrible. When the waitress came to the table she just stood there (typically they ask have you been here before or even simply say hello) I waved my hand to get her attention and she said I’m listening. We placed our order, the food came and obviously she was not listening because my order was wrong. She did not bring any condiments so I waved over the manager and the first thing he said was “we are remaking your food” Sir I was inquiring about getting condiments and did not say anything about my order. Overall I see that the apple don’t fall too far from the tree. No one ever apologized for the horrible service but hey eventually they will understand BROWN people have choices where they eat too.
