I was nearing the end of a 12 hour shift when my girlfriend came to take me for lunch. I decided to stop in and have dinner. Initially the cook came over to take our drink orders, after a bit of a stall in attention. Some time later the waitress came over brought the drinks and took our food orders. I ordered the steak and eggs, my girlfriend ordered the pork chop dinner. There we sat looking at the drink cups with what seemed to be aged edges on them with no straws. So as I got up to go wash my hands after my girlfriend returned from washing hers. I stopped by the waitress perched near the register and asked for some straws, she jumped to attention in recognition of her forgetting a step in the waffle house dance routine. I usually like over medium eggs to dip my toast in, but as not to have a problem with disappointment after a long day, I went with safety first..."scrambled". We get our plates and as she places the plates on the table saying " this is hard" as she removed the plate from atop of her forearm brace. I look at my plate and my eggs scream neglected! They were one clump of "oh I forgot" over cooked in spots, and runny in others. My toast was buttered on top spread like cheese wiz and the slice under was dry as a powder keg. As not to be difficult I know sometimes things go wrong. I sat and thought about it and decided to salvage what I could of the meal as I only had 40 mins or so left of my lunch. I ate the steak and hashbrowns and a piece of my girls Texas toast, it was good. When the cashier appeared I told her the eggs were runny shaking like a Polaroid picture, before she said anything I asked if I could just have some Texas toast instead of the eggs. She went back and yelled to the cook my toast order like she was working at Tom's dinner and her name was Alice. Sometime later the cook/ Mgr came over to check on us. I told him of the under and over cooked eggs. His first response was...how did you order them?? I said scrambled, Like I had ordered something special, he said did you ask for them to be soft? I said No. He offered to recook them but by them time my dinner and lunch was over and I just wanted to order a to go sandwich for a coworker, he took my order after I got details from her and brought the sandwich and didnt write a ticket for it. We waited, and waited for our bill we had to stop the incoming waitress who took over our care at that point for a to go tray. As our original waitress sat with her back to us hat off writing our bill as if she was done for the day. We sat a bit longer we had our dinner ticket in hand finally. Yet the sandwich wasn't on it, so my girlfriend got up paid for our meal. Then we packed up the pork chop from her plate and stood at the register with the other sandwich waiting. We had to ask for a bag then tell the waitress that the cook/mgr on duty made us a to go order that we needed to pay for, she went in back to get him. He came out and apologized for forgetting the ticket they took our money and we left. No apology for ruining the whole steak and egg experience so I had steak and hashbrowns toast was buttered on the top none in the middle ( it didnt melt) just spread across the top like cheese wiz, and the bottom pieces of toast where dry as powder kegs. Didnt eat that either. A mistake to stop, if the light beside it turns red....run it! Not really, Lol Wasted money, Not funny. Maybe I chose...
Read more🚨🚨🚨 Pearl, MS Waffle House on Hwy.80: It was only one guy (person) named Micah working the whole restaurant. He was kind, respectful, and excellent at his job(s) and all the other jobs he did. He handled all the customers, took the orders, and cooked the food! I believe that this was absurd to have one person run a whole restaurant alone. Even when it got busy, he still kept his composure and hung in there. Also, he did a great job with all the tasks at hand. He deserves to be a manager or more! And he deserves a raise! Many people would have quit, but he didn't, nor did he complain! He hung in...
Read moreThey hardly answer phones anymore. I wanted to place a to-go order. The automated message said we had to go inside to do that. So when I arrive, I stand at the register for three minutes without acknowledgement. Finally a lady says “booth or table”? I said to-go and was told they weren’t doing to-go orders. She turned around and kept doing what she was doing. Understaffed, I get it. But there use to be some type of compassion for wasting customers’ time or whatever. But that’s okay, establishments like this with horrible customer service, never have the opportunity to get money...
