Waffle House — Restaurant in Pearl

Unsanitary and awful customer service! On April 20th '22, my sister and I frequent this restaurant in hopes of enjoying a delicious meal b4 embarking on my journey back to Alabama. Once we entered the store, two female workers standing behind the counter looked up at us and never once acknowledged our presence, although we greeted them?? First clue! My sister recognized one of their male employees sitting in a corner table having a meal. After salutations, he explained that his shift had ended and he was about to leave for the day. Being as though no one waited on us, he came over an took our order, as well as the only other couple in the building. Clue 2! He then preceded to prepare our meals; one of the females came from a back room and took over this task! Bad idea! He (Sylveste White), obtained his name due to the hideous lack of service offered by the two female workers...began to serve our requested beverages. I asked the reason for their behavior and he sheepishly responded that they were busy doing other things. So, if Sylveste wasn't there, would we have been served? Our food was burned! Not simply overcooked...it was burned! I felt as if I was in the twilight zone! We asked for carry outs so it could be fed to the stray dogs in our community. At least, it wouldn't go to waste. We quickly settled our account, tipped and thanked Sylveste for his kindness and left. Before existing, I noticed the floors were filthy as if they hadn't been cleaned in a very long time, the windows were filthy, as well; especially the doors. We stopped here for breakfast before our flight home thinking this should be quick as usual Waffle House visits. Boy, were we wrong! The waitress was new so we knew we'd have to have patience. However, the other employee assisting her took our orders, so we thought our food should be correct. As we waited for our food to be prepared, we were very disappointed. It took much longer than usual to get the food and we saw the experienced waitress take out the trash but never washed her hands. She was also speaking to the new waitress very harshly as well as the cook. When our orders did arrive, they were wrong. Then the experienced waitress wasn't paying attention that the table next to us already had 2 waffles on their table. (only 2 guests were at their table) She proceeded to go right to their table with my waffle. She didn't ask them or us if we'd ordered a waffle. She just sat it on their table and walked away. A few minutes later she realized that it should've come to me. She goes to their table to get the waffle and brings it to me. I told her I didn't want something that was at another table. She proceeded to say: "I just sat it on the edge of their table." I told her that it didn't matter, just please kindly remove it from my ticket. We barely made it to the airport in time to return our rental car before our flight. Needless to say, if I'm ever in MS looking for breakfast near the airport, I will NOT be...

I never wrote reviews like this but I feel the need to share. We went here tonight for dinner. The restaurant was pretty clean but there was a funky smell when we walked in as if something had sat on the grill to long. We sat down and our waiter who was very nice took our order. He repeated our order back to is and everything he said was correct. He brought our drinks and we sat and talked. After awhile we realized it had been awhile since we ordered. Our food finally came and mine was wrong. They brought me an undercooked egg which I didn't order and couldn't eat because I'm 19 weeks pregnant. The waiter said he would take care of it and make sure the cook made me my omelet. We were still waiting for our waffles. My omelet came out and a few minutes later our waffles. Everything was burned except the undercooked eggs that I could not eat. I swallowed a few bites but had to stop. My husband suffered through his. When we got ready to leave there was a horrible stench. Something had definitely burned. The restaurant was filled with smoke. We've been home for an hour and I've already thrown up twice and it's not from being pregnant because my husband is as sick as me. I will never return to this...
