Mattress Direct - Jackson — Hotel in Pearl

I am NOT giving Mattress Direct a 5 star review today for the same reason most people do (for their courteous, professional staff and their great mattresses at great prices). I work for a non-profit that works on homes for elderly, veteran and low-income homeowners. Yesterday, we were in the home of a 69 year old retired widow whose home had flooded. We were repairing her floors (and other stuff), when one of our volunteers found out she was sleeping on a donated, used mattress that had BED BUGS. She had no other bed, so she slept on the bed night after night, knowing it had bed bugs! I called Cody in the Mattress Direct Bluebonnet store, explained our situation and asked if I could get a queen bed the next morning, for $340.00 (that's what the volunteers had raised for a new bed). Without hesitation, Cody said, "Hold on and I'll find you a bed!" He told me to come over at 10am and talk to Tim and they would load up a bed! Well, the next morning, I showed up, talked to Tim (who had a better paying customer at the time, but helped me anyway), and Tim loaded up a VERY nice queen mattress and boxspring for me. He even took the time to call a person in the corporate office to advise me on the bed bug situation. FIVE STARS for helping a non-profit with as much compassion and professionalism as a private citizen with a fat checkbook! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!! Ann-Marie, you were a joy to work with. My husband came in by himself and you helped him find the PERFECT mattress for us to replace our old worn out bed at home. Every time we had a question or concern, you were there for us. Even helped us get our old mattress replaced thru warranty! Ann-Marie called & kept us informed at each step. Couldn't believe you even called a couple of days before delivery to make sure that still worked for us. Delivery went very smoothly. Guys were polite. They moved the old mattress out & took it away for FREE! These people are TOP NOTCH! Only issue was with speaking with Skip & leaving several messages to no avail. Ann-Marie & the young man Jon were the ones who worked to help us. Thank you both for such a great experience! We will be sending ANYONE we know who needs a good night sleep to you guys. We now sleep well every night! But even if we didn't like it they gave us a YEAR to decide if our mattress is perfect for us. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I bought my daughter a bed from them 2 years ago that has a 10 year warranty. After submitting 4 or 5 claims online to have it replaced, I haven't heard anything back from anyone. The guys that deliver and setup for them slammed the box springs down, breaking it to the point of wooden slats and metal springs hanging down to the floor. The mattress is sagging and now my daughter has to sleep on a cot so she doesn't get impaled by metal springs. I seriously believe they sold me a used bed that had been repackaged. And forget trying to get them to exchange it. They won't do that and told me to submit a claim, which I mentioned I've done numerous times. The lady who sold me this junk made it out like getting it replaced if needed would be so easy. Maybe it is for her since she works there. Anyway heed my warning and spend your money elsewhere.
