We stopped by Cafe Trentuno on the way home after a long day. We were looking for nice pizza spot but didn’t want the “fast food” chain pizza stores.
Cafe Trentuno was recommended on Yelp. At first glance, we were not impressed. It dated decor and there were no customers in sight.
But the manager created us and took our order. He was very nice and informative of the menu. They do offer pizza by the slice at any time of the day. A plus if you just need a quick snack.
They appear to serve Napoleon style pizza, so it was looking up. We ordered a large olive oil based, cheese with pepperoni and pineapple. I know it sounds weird but it’s our favorite.
Each pizza is custom made to order so it took a few minutes to be served. But the advantage was it was piping hot straight to the table.
Olive oil was slightly sweet and tangy. Cheese was fresh and tasty. Toppings were perfect. Crust was crispy brown on undercarriage with nice crunch. Edges were crispy on outside and fluffy on inside.
Manager suggested their balsamic dressing to dip the crust in, so we gave it a try. Highly recommended! It was a great choice!
And of course, the Diet Coke was on point!
Great customer service! Good pizza! We will...
Read moreThis is the biggest food letdown I’ve had since moving to Pelham. After reading reviews, my wife and I decided to order out for Valentine’s Day as we needed something quick after work. I ordered chicken fettuccine alfredo. It was terrible. Sauce tasted like heavy cream. No salt, no Parmesan. I should not have to season the sauce myself when I get home. The chicken breast must have been boiled. No seasoning to speak of, and it was grey, no color at all, and overcooked. My wife ordered spaghetti and meatballs. It was decent and a large amount of food but, unless you’re completely incompetent in the kitchen, you can make it from a box and a jar at home so save your money. The reason for the additional star is the cheesy bread appetizer that was actually good. Overall, I would never spend my money here again. I understand you get what you pay for, but I would have been far better off going to Olive Garden...
Read moreSo we went in with a group of 18 on Saturday at 4:45. The guy at the front told the one that got there earliest that we had a group and would be there within the next 10 to 15 mins. He told her they normally like for a group to call and she said well here is the notice. He told her that he was probably gonna close early around 7 since it was raining in Tuscaloosa and was suppose to get bad, the rain wasn't even in Alabama yet, We checked the radar. He had to turn on the lights in the dining room for us, no one else was in the restaurant and he didn't want us to move one table over to seat everyone together. Food is normally really good and that is why we chose there but was off for some reason...
