Not impressed with this place. In the past, I've used it to get some advice on whether its worth my wild to get fixed but this was the first time I was going to give it a try for a cable housing that broke off on a tablet board. It was my fault as I was trying to fix a known Samsung issue with the screen display not showing. Web searches all pointed to disconnecting the power cable on the board to reset it. I accidentally opened the tablet and was trying to take the cable off when the housing came apart. Well anyway I decided to give this place a shot. It seems like only one guy works in there and his customer service skills are not stellar by no means. He has a very smart alecky attitude like, why are you bothering me with this? I had called to ask questions before bringing it in and he was just as bad on the phone. I'm sure others work there, but this is my experience. I have been in there years past and it must have changed hands b/c I can't help but think this guy runs the place and it wasn't hopping when I was in there on a Saturday morning. Anyway the part wasn't going to be in for well over a month and he did let me know that after a few hours by calling me. I wasn't in a huge rush and $60 seemed fair for the total repair. Here's the thing, if you're good at soldering (I'm not) then you can fix it yourself. They order off the web just like we do... (Amazon, Ebay, etc.). The part comes from China and he said as much and I found that's the case with what you order on Amazon for that particular part. I've replaced digitizers and screens before but I've never been good at getting modules soldered on a board..so paying a reasonable price to get it done is fair. Well this place just doesn't care and unless you yourself stay on it, you're liable to not hear anything. As a business, it has to be better at getting parts than the average consumer. I told him to forget it and I would just pick it up after leaving it there for a month. In fairness, he did say around Thanksgiving... i just didn't care for his attitude more than anything, but if you like to be treated like a peon, then by all means go there.
*Update - During the week of 1/21/2019, I guess the guy that runs the place called me and said they still had the tablet. I had forgotten to pick it up after deciding to forgo the fix about 3 weeks out from Thanksgiving. Anyway he said he fixed it and since I didn't ask for it to be fixed that it was no charge. Well I'll admit that's a step in the right direction based on what I ran into so I've...
Read moreNot recommended for laptop repair.
Had about a month of back and forth with them trying to get my laptop fixed which eventually turned into them suggesting they buy a used laptop of the same model and transfer the drive and ram to that machine. I agreed to this but specified that the used model they went out and got had to be the same make and model(for performance reasons) which i think is pretty reasonable not wanting to downgrade your laptop with a repair. They eventually were ready with the transferred laptop about a week later and I went to grab it and I thought all was good. Turns out the used laptop they transferred my stuff to had a much worse cpu and a screen that couldn't even run 1920x1080. I thought this was pretty ridiculous as I made sure they understood I wanted the same model so as to not downgrade. They did not communicate that the model was different at all and the only way I would've found out was through my own personal checking of the hardware. This is pretty slimy behavior especially for the price they were charging me($270). After a month of waiting that turned into a much more expensive charge and worse off computer, I decided I did not want to work with these people and asked for a refund and what i walked into the shop with. At the very least they did give me a refund which is the only good thing I can say about this place.
I ended up finding a much better performing used laptop for about $250 on ebay and transferred my drive and ram to that one and sold my old laptop for parts which lowered the cost even more . I wish I had done that to begin with so I didn't have to waste a month of my time with this place.
This place is probably fine for simple repairs and easy phone fixes, but I would not walk in here with anything...
