I visited this restaurant in an endeavor to find the best Japanese steakhouse in the area. Clearly, it's not this one.
This is the first Japanese restaurant I've been to that leaves yum yum sauce - which contains egg products - on the table all day. After being informed of this and taking notice of the odd smell of the bottle I had, I asked my server, Ping, if I could have a fresh one. Instead of doing so, she went on about how much work it would take to do that. This was not the response I expected or wanted, but instead of pushing through, I told her not to worry about it so as to not raise tensions. She did bring me a new bottle, however - all while continuing to tell me how much work it took. Later, I heard her sharply raising her voice with coworkers, all within earshot of guests.
The food was passable - the rice was bland and the protein was very peppery, lacking much other flavor.
Another server seemed to not know what edamame is. I'm not sure how you can get away with that at a Japanese restaurant.
I understand this place is new, but I recommend steering clear of them until they get their...
Read moreAmbers fake review is laughable. All the other reviews are people with 1 or 3 reviews. Family and staff. Don’t believe them. Try it for yourself if you dare , The fried rice is just white rice. There are no vegetables or seasoning in it like every other Japanese restaurant. It was clumpy and plain ,it tastes like regular white rice. My wife’s spider roll didn’t have much crab or any she could taste. Sumos has big chunks of crab sticking out of the rolls. Her spring roll didn’t have much in it and it was not flavorful. My filet and shrimp were good but they don’t have ginger dipping sauce like every other Japanese place has so I had to dip everything in sickly sweet yum yum sauce which I don’t like.the vegetables weren’t crisp like everyone else cooks them.they were all mushy.I like to sit at the grill and watch the cooks show but here they cook in the back and bring it out. The piped in music is too loud and it’s songs were ones no one has ever heard of with idiots that can’t sing , just whining. It is obnoxious. We won’t be going back. Nothing beats Saisaki...
Read moreTried Yamato based on the raving reviews but was entirely disappointed! The sushi quality was terrible!! We ordered the Yamato roll, the singing river roll, and the dynamite roll. The sushi was not fresh (we did order 30 minutes before closing). The rolls were lacking in quality and the avocado had taken a turn for the worst, could have easily been cut off so we wouldn’t even know but that showed us they didn’t care about what they were giving their customers. The crab Rangoon was fried in a thick breading, also don’t recommend as it was hard to chew. If they used a thinner bread it might have a chance hahah. There are so many good sushi places in the area or within a 30 minute radius with similar prices so I wouldn’t return or recommend.
The inside of the restaurant is nice and spacious, but that’s not going to make up for the...
