The waiter Tony was quite rude to me and my family last night. We had just left my son's football game. They won! And the kids really like Waffle House. I greeted Tony after he put silverware on our table never looking up and never saying hello. He asked to take our order and my 8 year old son (who we are teaching how to order for himself) gives him his order. Tony rudely says "your gonna have to speak up". At this point, I just took over for my son and ordered for him. The coffee was horrible and when I asked him if they had any fresh coffe he smugly replied, "I can make some"..... Me: "That would be great since your sign here says, "always fresh" and this is definitely not. The bacon was visibly burned, the cheese on the eggs didn't even melt and our bill was a bit much for my husband, myself, and 2 kids. After he gave us the bill he leaned against the counter staring at us while we looked over it. When I looked up at him he asked "can I help you with something?" I asked him to explain the bill to me (since I could barely read it with all of the red and sloppy penmanship). He explained very loudly for all to hear. I did not want make a scene, so we just said "okay", didn't tip him and we left. Surprisingly, my husband left his phone on the table and Tony did bring it to the car with a very condescending smirk on his face but we thanked him anyway. The odd thing is that We are a black family and a white couple came in behind us. Tony immediately greeted them without hesitation. I took note of his very obviously different attitude with them as they ordered. I really hope I am wrong about this guy, but this was my first time feeling like I and my family were being treated badly because we are black. We will never go back to this waffle house again. Unfortunately, my children possibly got their first lesson in discrimination and very bad service at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTerrible! The young man both the locs...TERRIBLE. He took 2 adults orders and was about to leave our table without taking my toddler's order and I had to stop him. He looked crazy. Then he brought a BURNT waffle on one side to our table. It was burnt side down to try to HIDE it. I noticed it when the waffle was too hard to cut. I asked for a replacement and he brought it. Then I go to eat the bread and its BURNT too. Im talking CHARRED. I asked for a replacement and he had a troubled look on his face like i was being a problem. I then went on to eat my eggs and a LONG brunette HAIR was in my eggs. That was the LAST STRAW FOR ME. I called him over and showed him. I then asked for him to get the manager. He went to get the manager, YELLING her name OUT LOUD in front of EVERYONE and said something else about me and the WHOLE kitchen staff and customers looked at me. I explained to the manager what happened and she was apologetic and asked if I would visit again. I said NO WAY. Terrible! He missed out on a GREAT TIP because of his TERRIBLE attitude. He couldn't tend to my family because he was tending to his RELATIVES FOR A FREE MEAL right next to our table. The girl kin to him got angry I called for a manager and she stormed away to the restroom. I know they were related because he was touching on the heads of the kids and he SAT DOWN at their table to take their free orders. If you don't like your job, please apply to another one and try not to RUIN other people's day and experiences. Just go to another one, y'all this one isn't it. The one star reviews are TRUE. I typically don't call managers but after THREE attempts of trying, it TOO MUCH not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRidiculous, this is definitely the worst waffle house experience I have ever had. While waiting 30 minutes for a melt, to go, with only 1 other customer in the place, I got 2 free showers from the staff spraying dirty dishes. I did receive an apology after I moved. The young server was using foul language with his Co workers, and the poor guy cooking was lost. When I got my to go sprite, it was just soda water. I explained this to my server who apologized and put the dirty dishes and sprayer down, took the lid off my drink, and dumped out the ice while holding the lid and my straw with her dirty dishes hands. I asked for a different cup and all the employees stopped and looked at me like I was needy. I should have just left. As the cook became more lost, another gentleman appeared from the back, in a chef coat and started to help the guy without washing his hands. The counters haven't been wiped down in hours, nor the floor swept. I realize that this place is very new and probably working out the kinks like any new restaurant. I was really happy to hear that a WH was coming to my back yard. It is unfortunate that I will not be visiting such an unsanitary establishment that I eagerly awaited ever again. Clean up and health department certify the staff. -Waffle...
