This isn't a review of the haunted house, this is a review of the ticketing/boarding system they use. TLDR: do NOT buy tickets online, and do NOT buy tickets at all until you know what current group is boarding AND what group you will be placed into.
Me and my best friend were travelling home and decided to stop and visit the haunt on our way down south from Nashville. We got there, and because the line for the box office was so long we purchased online tickets from our phones. Thinking this was like any of the other houses we had been to, we got out of the ticket line and proceeded inside only to be told even though we bought tickets online we would still have to wait in the box office line because the business didn't have the ability to scan tickets from cell phones.. okay.. so we got back in line and waited.
When we finally got to the box office we were told they were using a boarding pass system and that when we were called via a loudspeaker our group could board. We waited and waited and waited, and finally group E was called for one of two attractions, which btw were on different boarding groups letters and therefore had different wait times. Only problem was our boarding group (10+ letters away from E) was much much further down from what they were on.
What is the point of having online ticketing available if I have to still wait in a box office line? How is it possible this place doesn't have the ability to scan a barcode from my phone?
The current boarding group is not displayed anywhere, so there's no way of knowing what group they're on so you can decide for you and your party if the wait is worth it or you have time to wait. We had to wait and hear which group was being announced to get this crucial piece of information. If it had been on display at the front of the haunt or the box office I wouldn't have bothered purchasing tickets since I knew we wouldn't have gotten in for a long, long time.
We signed up for their text message service which will tell you when you can board so you don't have to just stand around. We got tired of waiting around and decided to leave. We got our text message notifying us our group could board when we were nearly 150+ miles away and nearly two hours later ! If you have a ton of time to wait around and no further engagements or plans for your evening, then maybe this wouldn't be an issue for you but it is a huge inconvenience and basically rules out travelling to this haunt from out of town.
There's no refunds btw, so if you buy tickets and then find out that the wait to get in is literal hours like we did, oh well! This haunted house thanks you for your benevolent donation.
If the point of this convoluted system is to reduce in person waiting because of COVID, great. But considering barely anyone in line or at the attraction was wearing a mask anyways, what's the point ?
I have been to many haunted houses since COVID and the vast majority will only let you purchase tickets for specific time slots online, so there's no confusion about when you can show up and when you'll be let into the attraction. I could understand not giving refunds then because I would've know BEFORE I bought my tickets what my time and availability would look like. The current system at Warehouse 31 doesn't make a lot of sense and is the furthest thing from convenient.
The staff were all super friendly and the haunt itself looked great. I wish I had gotten to experience it, instead of paying tickets for something and not being able to experience it or...
Read moreReally thought this was a good Halloween attraction. I haven't been to one in years but this is one of my favorites now. The first negative thing about my experience was you have to buy a combo ticket at the least which includes 2 attractions. One is a 3D experience and then the main attraction which is referred to as "rigamortis". My wife and I were mostly interested in just the main attraction as she was concerned her experience would be poor because she wears prescription glasses. The 3D event was creative and had really good art work inside. The only down side was that the glasses I had were worn out and sat crooked on my face. This had me mostly detracted the whole time trying to adjust the glasses. The wife had similar issues. Once your group is called through the 3D event, you exit back into the waiting area where you wait for the main attraction. The Rigamortis was the typical Halloween scare tactics but had beer well laid out scenes. It was very creative and at times felt like a maze because we doubted which was to go. Lots of props and gore throughout the entire event. It wasn't over as soon as it started which seems to be a problem with a lot of other attractions similar to this. We were actually surprised how long it went considering it is all inside of a wearhouse. Overall it was a great experience and we've talked about starting our old traditions and making this one of our yearly Halloween regulars going forward. Thanks Wearhouse 31 for a great...
Read moreMy family and I have a tradition of going to haunted houses every year, we have been going since my Oldest son was preteen (27 now). We live in Missouri and traveled to Alabama for the attractions, so Inwould say we are semi-knowledgeable about these types of attractions. Lets start with Rigormortis, AMAZING! We both laughed and cried from fear, my son even got so scared he jumped and fell into the "swamp" seriously almost 5 stars!!! Was worth the 10.5 hour drive. Now the 3D attraction was a massive massive flop. It started suspensful however after being in it for 5 minutes and nothing happening it left us wondering at each turn if the actors forgot thete was another attrqction they were supposed to work, then we ran into the group ahead of us and still hadn't been jumped out at or anything. Too many guests in at one time not enough actors to properly scare anybody, completely boring and it was exactly the same as every 3D attraction that we have ever been to. Try something new, get more actors take your time with the groups, or get rid of it all together that was way too much money to spend to not get...
