Soo soo soo disappointing. Stopped in here to grab a couple sausage biscuits to go. They were not very busy at the time (approximately 8:00am on a Thursday).
Only about 6-7 tables being used at the time I arrived (with pretty standard 3-4 people per table).
They had 5-6 guys waiting who had all been waiting for some time already and each of these guys were parties of 1. I asked to place a ToGo order and was told to “go over there.” When I stepped to the hostess stand, the hostess never said anything to me and just kinda sat there doing nothing. I waited several moments thinking maybe she needed to catch up but she still was doing nothing. She finally spoke to one or two guys who had been conversing in front of the hostess station and took their names telling them very snarkingly that it would be about an hour before they could sit down.
I then told her I just wanted to place a ToGo order and she said “it’ll be a while. He only got two servers and they hoppin.” They didn’t appear to Be “hoppin” But maybe they were.
They say they only have 2 people in kitchen and 2 serving so they are way behind and it’s going to be a while. And while saying all that, they have all been really rude and condescending about it. Not just to me, but to everyone who was in the lobby/store just now just wanting some breakfast and all the customers (potential customers) were being really pleasant and polite. But the hostess lady and the old lady cashier were both rude and just kinda ugly about everything.
After about 15 minutes of waiting and getting more aggravated, I left very disappointed and had to settle for a Krystal breakfast from the Krystal a block away. The shocking part is that the staff at the Krystal were pleasant, polite, and nice to deal with. Absolute opposite of what you’d...
Read moreThe service was poor at best no one even knew who our server was supposed to be. Upon arriving the hostess saw 4 of us and carried us to a table for 4 without even asking if this would suit our party and hurried away. We waited to be seated until a waitress arrived at our table and ask could we be moved to a larger table she pointed to a larger table and told us our server would be with us soon. ONCE a server showed up to take our orders my son and i ordered the BlackBerry pancakes and his wife had the server repeat the order to her not once but twice and she herself repeated twice to the server that he and I wanted the BlackBerry pancakes not blue berry. When our food arrived what seemed like one person's at a time we had one order of blue berry pancakes and one order of regular pancakes. After 3 trips of getting the pancakes wrong another server comes along while we have agreed to just have them bring the BlackBerry topping on the side to tell us it's on its way the other girl is getting it. Like the rest of our food they brought it out one bowl at a time by which time our pancakes won't even melt butter. We had also ordered ahead for the rest of the party joining us who was 20 minutes away one of which had also ordered the BlackBerry pancakes their orders didn't arrive to the table for another 30 minutes needless to say WRONG. With no BlackBerry topping when the 3rd server went to get that bowl of topping she brought back BlackBerry jelly informing us they were out of the fruit topping. At one point a manager came to our table to refill drinks he ask my son was he having tea sweet or unsweetened and my son told him Dr pepper he repeated Dr pepper only to return with tea. It was the worst experience I have ever had at any cracker...
Read moreI will not be back. If I could give less than one star, I would. I will never eat at this particular Cracker Barrel location again, and it had nothing to do with the food or the service. Both were fantastic. I saw too much today that I don't agree with.
1.) As I was leaving during my visit previous to today, I watched a server drop a glass and attempt to get another's attention because she had been sat. That server proceeded to tell her to quit speaking to her. Unnecessary. If you don't like your coworkers enough to have courtesy when speaking to them, find a new job.
2.) I witnessed a new server get reprimanded inside the server register area loud enough for the customers to hear. Whoever the employee trainer is, I DO NOT want to hear you correcting new servers in the kitchen while I am eating. Take them to the back and be decent to them, or quit your job because you clearly cannot manage to do it the right way! There's no reason I should hear you from the kitchen out in the dining room, ever. The way in which you spoke to the server in question was inappropriate. I will be calling to complain.
3.) The plates were so hot when we were given our food that I nearly dropped them when I took them from our server today. Where is the necessity for this? Our food is put on the plate hot to begin with.
Treat your servers better, Pell City! They are the reason your restaurant runs. If you can't manage that, you don't deserve good employees. I will be finding another cracker barrel...
