I love authentic Mexican food! I mean really, really love it, could eat it everyday, breakfast lunch and dinner. So yea, this was just ok. After looking up the reviews and seeing the pics this seemed like the spot to be. I pull up and it is in a mini mall (not really a big deal) but the liquor store customers right beside the place can definitely keep a family from coming. I wanted to order to go and have a cocktail while waiting. Unfortunately, they don't have the liquor license yet. Ok, cool, I will go to the sketchy liquor store and just get something to take back with me and my food to go. I pop in there, pop back out and my food was ready. I ordered the Award Winner Wet Burrito chipotle ground beef, Mexican cheese, rice and beans topped with delicious creamy cheese sauce and chips. I also got the Guacamole & Chips. Sounds exactly like the fattening deliciousness I was craving. When the girl told me my total I didn't say a word but thought to myself, wow! $25 for a thing of guac and chips and a burrito? I was seriously thinking it would be $17 max. I thank her tell the two customers inside to have a good night and leave. When I open the to go box of the Award Winner Wet Burrito I see a pile of chips next to a very dry burrito. Ah, but wait, there is a to go ramekin of a white substance that resembles queso dip but it takes like nuked sour cream. I cut into the burrito, eat a big bite and it's cold. :( That's alright, I will nuke it with the sour cream stuff and munch on the $10 guacamole I ordered. It was ok. So yea, this place was just ok. Will I come back? Maybe. I would definitely take this as constructive criticism and advise the Chef to teach and coach and be in...
Read moreMy wife, son, and I recently dined at "Los Tacos" in Pembroke Pines and here's our experience:
Upon entering on a Friday night, we were pleasantly surprised by a live mariachi performance. This was an exceptional touch that made our experience memorable. Our son was captivated by the music, and as a musician myself, I truly appreciated their skill and the ambiance they created.
Food-wise, the "Taco Locos" stood out with its mix of Asada and Pastor tacos accompanied by green and red sauces. The taste was impeccable. However, the beverages fell short. We ordered two Horchatas which, unfortunately, tasted watered-down. It lacked the authentic richness we were anticipating.
Our dessert choice was the "fried" ice cream. While it was presented with a coconut layer, it lacked the expected crunch and felt somewhat stale. The saving grace was the caramel drizzle, which gave the dessert some redeeming flavor.
As for service, it was a mixed bag. We were initially greeted warmly, but the service during our meal was lackluster. It felt like our waitress wasn't particularly invested, which dampened our mood a bit.
The ambiance, though reminiscent of quaint restaurants I've visited abroad, did not fully resonate with me on this occasion.
In summary, while there were highlights like the tacos and mariachi, some aspects, particularly the drinks and service, need improvement. I'd rate it 4 out of 5...
Read moreI’ve come here once before and it was such a great experience from the food to the service which makes me sad to leave this review but I have to. I came tonight and as soon as I walk in to the restaurant the woman automatically says they are only taking cash and to choose another table if we are going to sit because that ones dirty… no welcome or anything and she had an attitude as well. We decide to let it go and come back with cash. Once we sit she brings us the menu and is super rude as we order. At one point we ask her for salt and she goes to the front counter and starts eating. Completely unprofessional so after about 10 minutes of waiting we asked another waitress and she brought it right away. Another waitress also brought our food while she continued eating and laughing in the front counter with another waitress. I had also decided to keep a menu at the table to look at desserts for after and for some reason that really bothered her and she blatantly rolled her eyes and walked away, at that point we didn’t get a dessert anymore because we no longer wanted to spend any more time there. It’s just ridiculous to me to have to experience this behavior when you’re paying for a service. So sad but definitely won’t be...
