UPDATE: Having read the snarky response to my fair, honest, and overall positive review with constructive criticism I won't be going back.
I'd love to stop by and teach you how to cook, but my consulting rates are incredibly high for menu development.
For the record, lil miss Snark, lobster meat doesn't flake like fish, unless you're obliterating it in a food processor. So after further consideration, it's clear you're using low quality claw, probably crab, rather than whole lobster or premium tail meat, but you charge a premium price.
Enjoy the review you actually deserved. I was too kind the first time.
Everything is bland and overpriced. The service is non existent. They serve beverages in plastic cups. They're charging fine dining prices and claiming to serve higher quality food than actual fine dining. This place wouldn't even get a look from the Michelin Guide but they act like they already have the star they don't even deserve to dream about.
The owners are extremely rude and flood Google with fake reviews (it's obvious which reviews are fake and which are real). Just look at how the owner responds to the negative feedback. They can't take criticism but claim to be willing to fix things "at the time". They have an excuse for everything, and claim to be "disgusted" by the "slanderous" remarks. I can only imagine the exasperation from their lawyer as they explain for the hundredth time that it's not slander if it is true.
Just compare the grammar and poor composition of their rute responses on here with some of the glowing, lavish reviews they get. Note the suspicious similarities.
They appear to overmix the dressing and "lobster", so it's rather flakey (like tuna spread) instead of chunky. So I'd wager they're sneaking fillers like canned crab in there. This wouldn't be a sticking point if they weren't charging top tier, premium prices. They need to elevate their presentation with the rolls. Mix the dressing separately and gently fold it into freshly cooked lobster that's been chopped into decent chunks.
For this price and 2 rolls, you should be getting a whole lobster worth of meat, or 2 full tails. Which means I want to see the whole damn lobster in pieces. Not a tuna salad consistency with a few flecks or red chunks mixed in.
No desire to return here. You get better quality and value and flavour from food truck lobster than you get here, and at least the food truck has a reason to not be using actual glassware.
If you enjoy extremely overpriced food that's poorly made, rude customer service, being abused for having the audacity to complain (even when they overcharge you and make it your fault based on multiple other reviews), tacky atmosphere from the decorations to the way your food and beverage is served, canned quality crab, flavourless lobster, rubber shrimp, frozen quality pizza, then this is your place I guess.
There are far better options in the area as well as in Pittsburgh who serve higher quality ingredients prepared with real skill that actually tastes good. The claim this place makes that they're using higher quality ingredients than these other places is either patently false, or they're just ruining good food with bad recipes and even worse technique. Possibly some combination of both based on the fact that they can't seem to afford to update their restaurant or use real glasses.
PS Even dive bars have websites these days, "modern businesses" have not and never will rely exclusively on Facebook and Google to reach their customers. I'd happily overcharge you for a stale website though, something totally befitting your own...

Embarking on a dining journey at Brooklyn's Lobster Shack is akin to setting sail for a coastal escapade, right in the heart of the city. This culinary lighthouse not only beckons with its boardwalk vibes and seaside decor but also with a menu that promises a tantalizing array of dishes. Each visit is an opportunity to dive into flavors that resonate with the soulful tunes of reggae and ska, set against an ambiance that effortlessly conjures the spirit of the sea.
Our culinary voyage was heralded by a steak that was nothing short of exemplary—a testament to the chef's mastery, delivering a perfectly crusted, medium-rare delight accompanied by impeccably prepared potatoes and asparagus. Similarly, the king crab legs, while presenting an unexpected twist in size, closer to their snow crab counterparts than the king crab legs of yore, were nonetheless prepared with a finesse that allowed their natural flavors to shine, paired with a butter dip that was the epitome of classic seafood accompaniments.
The journey continued with a few bumps along the road, notably the seafood fries which, despite their generous and flavorsome toppings, were let down by fries that lingered on the undercooked side of the spectrum. The pasta, however, stood out for its generosity, not just in portion but in the promise of a meal that kept on giving, ensuring a delightful encore from the comfort of one's home.
Service at Brooklyn's Lobster Shack deserves a standing ovation—our server navigated our evening with grace and attentiveness, especially in making our youngest diner feel welcomed and cherished. This level of service, coupled with the restaurant's inviting atmosphere, adds layers of warmth to the dining experience.
A practical piece of advice for those planning a visit: securing a reservation is a wise move, as this gem is no secret to the food-loving public. Additionally, considering the challenge of limited parking, a bit of pre-visit planning can ensure your focus remains on the culinary adventure that awaits.
While the steak dazzled with its preparation, it was somewhat let down by a cut that bore more fat and gristle than expected for its price point. Salad enthusiasts, take note: the dressing comes generously, so opting for it on the side might be a prudent choice to tailor the dish to your liking.
Our dessert endeavor, the strawberry scooter, though envisioned as a sweet culmination, unfortunately didn't hit the mark, with its overly thick frosting and a scarcity of fresh strawberries and cake leaving something to be desired.
Despite these few missteps, the dining experience at Brooklyn's Lobster Shack remains a testament to the value and joy of eating out. The ambiance, service, and majority of the dishes offer a seaside retreat without leaving the city, complete with all the flavors and warmth one could wish for in a dining experience.
In summary, Brooklyn's Lobster Shack is a beacon for those seeking culinary adventures, offering a blend of delightful flavors, exceptional service, and an atmosphere that transports you straight to the coast. It's a reminder that while the perfection of a home-cooked meal has its charms, the experience of dining out, with all its nuances and surprises, is irreplaceable. Brooklyn's Lobster Shack is a celebration of good food, great company, and the enduring appeal of...
