Bobby Ray's Pennsauken Tavern — Restaurant in Pennsauken Township

After what seemed like a good experience it turns out that Bobby Ray is actually stealing from customers. Start checking your accounts if you use a card here. After looking at the charge and realizing somthing wasnt right we went to the manager and got an itemized list from that night. There was over 100$s in drinks added to the tab that shouldnt have been along with a 60$ tip charge to the card. Aprently the 100$ cash tip wasnt good enough. After looking at the receipt it turns out that when people were ordering drinks and paying cash the bartender was taking that money then charging it to someone elses tab so that they could pocket the money. This was figured out because several people in my group had paid cash for drinks yet somehow their drinks had ended up on our tab along with unknown drinks. Bobby Ray is aware of this yet is not attempting to correct the bartenders but actually encouraging them to offer drinks to women "on the house" untill they are drunk then take advantage of them by not only adding the "on the house" drinks to the tab but more. Our Credit card company is already looking into this along with getting police involved but I strongly encourage anyone using a card to be aware of this and if you have used a card in the past check out your statements. And if this has happened to you do not let Bobby Ray tell you that you must have been intoxicated and lost track that is his trick to get away with it. I've been here a few times, once on purpose, twice by happenstance.

The service is below-average at best. I've been straight-up neglected or treated rudely by bartenders and servers alike each time. But that's to expected at a place like this. We are talking about a bar at Westfield and Cove in Pennsauken. It's not exactly Rittenhouse Square.

The food is above-average. Wings are definitely the thing to order, but I don't believe they're award-winning like some people make them out to be. They'd make my list of Top 10 wings in South Jersey, but they wouldn't be at the top of the list. The pizza is a joke. Don't order it if you appreciate a great pizza. Sandwich selection is run-of-the-mill, but good nonetheless.

If you're a fan of high-quality craft beer, which I happen to be, don't go to Bobby Ray's. The selection is decent, but Blue Monkey Tavern in Merchantville is far superior as far as beer, if that's your thing. The drink specials are typically favorable, but where aren't they favorable?

Bottom line: Bobby Ray's is your standard dive bar. Perfect for people watching if you love to make fun of your average South Jerseyans, which I do. I can't lie: this place is pretty trashy.. If you haven't had their wings yet, I'd give them a try. If you don't like wings, order a sandwich. But get takeout. Based on my experiences, their servers don't deserve a tip and the clientele...

The food was amazing and the prices were very reasonable! I got a massivd burger meal and a delicious vodka cocktail for $20.87. Service was good and friendly, only super minor thing was that I wasn't sure if it was self seat or wait to be seated so I stood around awkwardly in the entrance for a few minutes before the bartender decided to ask if I needed help. But that's more on me than anything else. The restaurant itself had a nice atmosphere and vibe too, until I went into the restroom. It felt like I went into a gas station restroom. Graffiti everywhere, uncleaned, a unirnal and one of the sinks was broken, the soap dispenser had been torn off the wall, and half the lights were out. It's a shame because I was having an extremely positive experience up to that point, but since I went into the restroom to wash up after my meal, it was a real sour way to finish the trip.

My overall verdict: Amazing food and service, definitely recommend going here! Just uh, hold your bladder until you get home and maybe bring some wet wipes to clean your hands and face afterwards instead of using...
