Pennsville Family Diner — Restaurant in Pennsville Township

This was a “Mini Meal” but should be listed as a microscopic meal. Overpriced, tiny portions, salad looked nice but lettuce wasn’t cold or crisp. Hamburger steak had a good flavor and cooked to my specifications, mashed potatoes and gravy were good. Garnish on the plate was withered and unappetizing. Chicken dumpling soup was salty and dumplings weren’t firm. The soup had a raw flour flavor. Had to ask for napkins. Server didn’t ask about our desert (came with meal). Jello not very firm, whipped cream was sad. Lighting was low and the bulbs were the kind that put out a cold blue light. No bread offered with meal. We did have a pet fly who kept inviting itself to dinner. The outside isn’t well kept. The place has a deserted look from the outside. The fake flowers outside were colorful though. We ate here when we moved 5 years ago, called Choban, it was awful so never went back. Well, it's under new management and reviews are high so we tried again. Worse than 5 years ago. My husband got the $16.99 breakfast buffet and it was adequate at best, most food was cold, the only positive was the ham. I got a chicken sandwich. I'm not sure how it's possible to have a look of seasoning but have absolutely zero flavor. The bacon was limp and I asked for it crispy. The fries were cold and I asked for them crispy. It was just overall such a huge disappointment. It's not like the management doesn't know about dinner process as half the staff is from Blue bird. I can't say anything positive about the food, not when there's a couple Great diners near us! We won't e ever return unfortunately. It was late and me and my husband was hungry so stopped inside the family Pennsville dinner, the owner was there it was almost closing time but he was so nice he said it’s ok come in we will make you a meal and I had chicken Alfredo and my husband had the lasagna and for appetizers we had the bruschetta the meal also came with a soup or salad.
