Baker's Diner — Restaurant in Pennsylvania

Out of all the restaurants in my area, I chose to go out of my normal mile radius and go to Bakers diner for my 17th birthday dinner. Usually when I attend this restaurant it is amazing. The service is super friendly and fast, and the food is always correct and delicious. For this special occasion though, it was the complete opposite of what used to be, the norm. When we arrived at the restaurant, there was a long line out the door and no one inside offered to sit people down. It was obvious that there were plenty of open and clean tables and servers were just laying around and chatting among themselves. Right away, I had a feeling that this experience was going to be different from the rest. About 20 minutes later, we were finally seated. Although we experienced a slight relief, it was quickly taken away by how the waiter was treating my table compared to a table full of college ladies. Our table was getting short responses and very rude manners. Meanwhile the table right next to us while pretty young college ladies, were getting excellent service, he was extremely polite and friendly with them and actually started conversations with them as well. The actions of the waiter are nothing compared to how the food was. After about 45 minutes of ordering our food, it finally arrived. Now keep in mind that our table consisted of 6 people so the wait was acceptable for a party that size but the errors with the food were not. Over half of our orders were messed up or undercooked. My order specifically was a chicken caesar wrap. My chicken was still raw in the middle, lettuce was brown on the outer edges, and the dressing was barely present. Baker's Diner 11-7-24

Stopped in on Thursday at 1pm for lunch. This place was clean, neat, and not full. There were only a couple tables with customers in them. The interior was very nice and laid gave you the feel of an upscale dinner. I loved the showcase filled with all kinds of deserts near the front, so you don't forget them after you eat. Our waitress Nikki came over fast for our drink order, when she came back to deliver our drinks she took our food order. The menu is large, they have specials for each day of the week and daily Senior specials to boot. I believe there is something for everyone on that menu. We both ordered the Open Turkey Sandwich with 1 side and soup or salad. For my side I got mashed potatoes and a salad. My wife's sides were coleslaw and a salad. Nikki brought out our salads very quickly. The salads looked good, and all items looked fresh and tasted great. The salad was bigger than I thought, and it was very good. As soon as we were done with the salads our Turkey Sandwiches came out. They looked amazing, the Turkey, bread and gravy filled the entire plate. It was so good and so tasty. The Mashed potatoes were good, and they seemed to go well with Turkey. My wife loved her Turkey and the coleslaw. I have to say this was a very good dish. The only thing I would have liked is for the dish to be a little hotter. It was not cold but could have been hotter for that 5th star. I can't wait to go back and try something else. You need to go here as prices are reasonable, service is good, and the food is great. I give this place 4 stars out of 5. The food was absolutely horrible the service was absolutely horrible too. Myself and five other people had been there before I told the waitress I could not eat black pepper in any of my food she assured me that there would not be any in what I ordered she also was very unattended to our table and the food came out cold and of course my food had pepper in it so I ended up in the bathroom went back again this evening cuz we were invited to come back and our check was going to be taken care of it was just me and my husband this evening the other four people were not with us so after the manager given me a little bit of run around with bed he offered to make sure our check is taken care of well that was a joke too so the waitress we had tonight I had told her the same thing I could not have any kind of pepper in My food and of course outcomes my food with pepper in it so she asked me if I wanted something else and now comes the manager tells me that I can get something else but then that's it if there is any problems with it he's not doing anymore and I'm thinking to myself are you serious first of all it's not my fault that there was pepper in the food and she served it to me anyway broiled Seafood cuz I figured that would not have any pepper on it it took them a half an hour after my husband ate to bring my food and then the waitress comes out says they messed it up again and they have to redo it because they put paprika on it and I told her the pathway...
