We used Trefzger's for our wedding cakes. We were blown away by their professionalism, efficiency and punctuality. I knew I wanted 8 inch mini cakes on each table, and with over 400 people invited, we knew this wouldn't be an easy task. I went to them knowing they were probably the only people who could make 30+ 8 inch cakes and deliver them, AND make them delicious. I tried many cakes but we ended up going with Red Velvet to match our colors, which was not even their most delicious in my opinion. However, on the day of, they were perfect. We did "naked" cakes, and this can get pretty detailed, as we still wanted some icing on the cake. We paid in advance to do a practice run of the cakes, and she even let me pick the different kind of gold sprinkles to go on (yes, there are many different kinds). We worked with Martha the whole time, and she was quiet, but so precise and detail oriented. Honestly, I figured something would go wrong on the day of but no, each cake was perfect. The main cake we cut into was beautiful as well. We let guests cut into their own cake, and had people rave about how delicious it was all night. If you pick Trefzger's, you will not be disappointed. It seemed like a cool place. A local staple (although I'm not local). They had lots of delicious looking things. I grabbed a few cookies and my family got some cupcakes and cinnamon rolls. The danishes and such were huge and looked good. The cakes looked wonderful with lots of fun flavor combinations to choose from. My daughter loved the orange chiffon cake and they even gave her some extra sprinkles. Very nice. Seemed like good people. I don't want to put down a much beloved local spot but a few points to mention:. They strangely seem to use the same buttercream for everything. They had some eclairs which usual have chocolate ganache on the top but we're slathered with a thick layer of chocolate buttercream and the same for the eclairs and chocolate cream puffs. Monster cookies (the oatmeal and mix-in cookies) were flat and a bit over priced ($3+ each...they warned me it would be more expensive than the others for the record), and cream puffs were the size of my fist (not a bad thing just...off). I'd happily go back but it isn't a place I would make a special trip for. I'd call it an above average local bakery and be lucky to have it in my neighborhood.

We stopped in around 2:00 on a Tuesday. The girl at the counter said they had been wiped out of a lot of desserts. We tried a sugar cookie that was good and a few types of cupcakes. The German chocolate cupcake was a bit dense and dry, but the topping was good. The double chocolate cupcake was better. It was moist. The coconut and rasberry cupcakes were OK. They were a bit dense. They had some prepackaged brownies, macaroons, slices of pie, candy, etc. that you could purchase. Plus, whole cakes, too. They had a few places to sit inside. Don't forget to take a number when you walk in. I would definitely come back much earlier in the day to see what else they offer.

Trefzgers is HANDS DOWN THE BEST BAKERY IN PEORIA && surrounding areas. I have never had a bad thing from there and the staff is top tier. The staff is friendly and answer any and all questions I may have. My favorite cookies are the machine cut sprinkles and the happy face cookies while my wife really loves the peanut butter chocolate chip. This is my favorite place to stop and get any sweet treats , there turtle candy is to die for, some of the best I’ve ever had. Don’t waste your time going anywhere trefzger is the best in the business! I haven’t yet but One day Im going to try their soups and fresh baked breads!
