I absolutely love this place. This was worth the 40min drive. My daughter wanted a birria pizza so I googled and yelped it and found this place with promising reviews. Came with the family on a Sunday afternoon and this place did not disappoint. Service was great. Super friendly crew. Food was great! We had the Grilled Cheese Birria and Birria Pizzadilla and OMFG we absolutely enjoyed this experience. The food came out in like 15min and everything was nice and hot. The pizza dripping! The consommé was so bomb, it was super flavorful. It didn't taste water down. We added their green sauce and it enhanced it even more! The way we destroyed that pizza was unbelievable. We had to take our Grilled Cheese leftover home and it still hit! They use Texas Toast and they butter that bread up so damn good, I truly enjoyed the grilled cheese birria dipped in consommé with the red sauce this time. I just enjoyed every bite of my food from this spot. I definitely will be here again! Leftover didn't last long. 40 min drive back and we came home craving for some more.
As for drinks we ordered 3 bottles of water, and 2 Agua Frescas. I would say water bottle could have been refrigerated. It wasn't cold at all. Could have offered ice or something but it wasn't a big deal.
We had Watermelon Strawberry Agua Fresca and Pineapple Mango and it didn't feel refreshing. It was too warm to drink especially the Watermelon Strawberry, in which you can definitely taste the cucumber (which I loved) but it just wasn't cold enough to be refreshing. The pineapple mango we all loved but same thing a little too warm. But that is all personal preference. If I'm eating something hot, I like to wash it down with a nice cold drink. So with that said, I am not sure if it's supposed to be warm. Each drink was $7ish. Next time I'll skip drinks and just bring my own bottle with ice.
Price was reasonable and expected. Pizza was 29.99 and Grilled Cheese was (I think) 9.99. Grilled Cheese wasn't on the online menu, but when we went there, it was on their physical menu. Atmosphere? It’s small and it’s your regalia mom and pop shop. I’m used to places like this and always find that places that don’t have the nice warm “aesthetic” is always a hit bc I feel they put more into the quality of their food than their storefront. So for me, atmosphere was comfortable even in 110 degree weather outside.
Took away one star bc of the water bottles being warm. Other than that, everything...
Read moreAwesome quesabirria, can't get enough of them. this place does them right compared to 90% of places. Most places always are able to get 2 of the 3 criteria but not all of them. First criteria is that they're actually able to get the flavor just right, personally if food feels like a chore to eat or just feels generic for that particular food then you didn't meet the criteria, this place has a really good flavor and it's difficult to beat. Criteria number 2 is texture and preparation; this is actually the first time I've eaten a quesabirria while driving because they're so easy to eat, you can literally pick it up and its easy to bite into without being messy, it's crunchy and just right when it comes to cheese, but at the same time when you go home and eat the rest with condiments its even better despite being good on their own. Last criteria can be a hit or miss for some but it's important to me, would you drive 20 minutes for more? It's important because if you're willing to drive 25 minutes to get more they're actually good good, I personally would. I'd give this place a 9.0; only reason is that I've had better consume and ive had quesabirria that edged it out in flavor (barely) and if they got that right that would bump it to 9.7. I've never had a 10 before and a 10 to me is something I can eat the rest of my life and I've never found anything like that, plus I don't trust people who say a place is...
Read moreThis is a great restaurant driven by our own community members delivering a certain magic you can't find at the more common chain restaurants in the area. I had purchased food from them back in the day before they had the brick and mortar shop today and they have always stood for good quality and delicious experiences. These days my absolute favorite item is the al pastor burrito with the jalapeno cheddar upgrade (seriously DO NOT skip over this), it's not a super spicy addition just caramelized cheese on the outside of the tortilla. Takes it from what is already a 10 for the contents of said burrito and turns it up to 12. As for the interior, there is no shortage of emphasizing great ingredients to maximize a dishes true potential. This is my favorite Mexican food over the 28 years I've lived here in the valley and I have moved across the country and back yet this is my number 1 so far. They haven't let me down on any of the items on their menu and I would recommend it to anybody. We tend to get extra verde sauce, consomme agua frescas and the like so it does add up but, worth it. Every....
