Soooo I've been dying for fried zucchini for a while now, my fiance suggested this place and spoke very highly of staff and food and also take important clients there for lunch meetings. I was hesitant because of the 20 min drive from our home but he insisted we go and that I would be pleased. Visiting this place tonight made me question his clients and and his entire job and what he does for a living. We walk in the door at exactly 9:06 p.m. on this beautiful evening and the place has absolutely no AC on in the seating area. I immediately start sweating, felt sticky and gross. The waiter who was just ok sweet but clueless seats us. I asked her if the AC was broke. She responded "No it shuts off at 9 p.m.. I'm sorry we're all hot in here and no one can firgure out how to turn it back on??? What sense does this make, your still open for an hour taking customers money, we shouldn't have to sit in a restaurant with no AC. I was very uncomfortable, I could smell the grease cooking in the kitchen which made me sick to my stomach. I thought to myself is this even sanitary?? It had to have been like 85, 90 degrees in that place. I've never experienced anything like it, everyone working looked hot, oily and miserable. I suggested we eat outside, that was the only way I was going to enjoy my meal. Thank God it's a beautiful breeze out tonight, definitely a breath of fresh air. Food was serve, just as I expect the zucchini and mushrooms was greasy. The pizza was absolutely amazing, loved it. The staff and customer service could ruin your business Mr. Manager guy. It was about four employees just hanging around eating at the bar, may have been off the clock but totally unprofessional. No one asked how was the food? Was everything ok? I was really disappointed at the whole experience. You should consider maybe opening a drive thru. I read the reviews on my way there and notice how the Mr. Manager guys like to respond. You seem very repectful and professional, I was actually shocked at the whole atmosphere. I often feel like people are to harsh with ratings and reviews but felt the need to comment simply becuase of the high hopes I had. P.S. Still craving...
Read moreThe person that said: “it’s basically an over priced Pizza Hut” is a moron. If all you have is Pizza Hut money there is nothing wrong with that, but couldn’t you say that Pizza Hut is just an over priced Little Ceazar’s? And if $5 is still too much, maybe just stay home and eat a frozen Totino’s pizza which is probably a much more comfortable price point for you.
QUALITY is never cheap, but Uncle Sam’s is definitely not overly expensive. It is ADEQUATELY PRICED and on par with other similar chains such as Zipps, Tail Gaters, or Native Grill & Wings just to name a few. But Uncle Sam’s also does not have a full bar. They are a FAMILY RESTAURANT and serve beer and wine. And they do have some of the cheapest happy hour beer prices you will find. They also do not serve burgers or hotdogs. They serve PIZZA, CALZONES, and STROMBOLI’S which are all always great because the dough/crust to start with is outstanding. Put whatever you like in it, or on it and it will be good! The wings are always consistently good and meaty . The HONEY HOT is arguably the best you will find in my opinion. There are several delicious sandwich choices, but the crown jewel for me is the CHEESESTEAK!!! Again when you start with delicious bread and fill it with quality steak followed by whatever else you want to add, you can’t go wrong. There is a small bar section which is always a great place to watch a game, have a good conversation or just be surrounded by good people. The restaurant has a wonderful patriotic themed atmosphere. Nothing is more American than this restaurant. It is a quality establishment ran by an owner who is hands on, approachable and has an UN WAVERING COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE. Managers who are of course product experts, always available and willing to take any appropriate steps to ensure that you enjoy your experience. Not to mention the hardest working wait staff with the most polite, friendly and accommodating attitudes you will find in the valley. I HIGHLY...
Read moreAfter making this post the ownership made immediate contact and had a good conversation with my mother who got the worst of our visit. The owner gave us a $50 gift card a assured us it was a situation that was resolved. I've upgraded my review from 2 to 4 stars. A quick response and resolution made all the difference. We'll be back and give it another go. We seriously Love this place and hated that we caught them on a bad night. It happens.
Original post below.
Food is good if they could cook a pizza without burning it. Same with strombolli. Its on the menu you think someone would catch a burnt (black) food item before it got put in front of you at the table. Cheese steak was a wish sandwich. Like I wish there was some cheese steak on this bread. We had a party of 10! Jesus make an effort just a little bit. Pizza shop food is dime a dozen to get average. Sadly Uncle Sam's was on the Above Average list for myself and family. It has fallen to they just dont give a s**. They get two stars because while you are being served food not fit for the homeless they smile and are extremely nice. I bragged to family from Philly about this place before we took them to dine in. Completely embarrassed after they took one bad item back from being burnt to bringing a cheese steak ice cold to the table for my mother. Two pizzas burnt. They burnt the cheese black. Thats not easy. Ten at a table is a decent size bill and tip which we paid because they just couldnt get it right on multiple attempts. No need pushing for something they obviously lost the skill or motivation to provide. Sad cause its literally their business they cook its what they are supposed to know, right? No offer to remove bad items from bill or anything. I'd love to be writing a glowing review but everything was just wrong bad or inedible. 😢 A sad day for a...
