Minus one star for the service and wait time. Minus one star for overcooking a burger....at a burger place. But overall this is one of the best burger joints in the greater Toledo area.
We sat down at around 135 on a Saturday. The place was pretty busy, but there were a couple tables available. I will say the AC isn't so great inside, so on exceptionally hotter days, expect to be warmer. Our server came by quickly with menus and to take drink orders. She then promptly returned with drinks, and took out food order. We waited exactly 45 minutes for our food to come out. During that time we were not checked in on by our server once.
Food came out and was quite good. Their regular fries are clearly fresh cut and we'll seasoned. I had the Texan burger with the Kobe beef option. The burger was good but the star of the show was the bun. I know bread isn't particularly exciting, but it was one of the best burger buns I've had anywhere.
Now for the negatives. I ordered my burger medium, but it was delivered with no pink showing inside at all. Clearly a medium well that could be confused for well done. The flavor was great, don't get me wrong, but that's not what I ordered. Also, it's a burger place. This is all they serve, and I'm judging them based on that.
I also substituted for sweet potato fries, which they messed up. This actually ended up being a good thing, because they brought the sweet potato fries out and they weren't very good at all, so I at least had a nice pile of their traditional fries to eat.
My wife had the black bean burger and really enjoyed it. Trust me when I say that is high praise. She doesn't like most restaurants veggie burger options.
Finished with the meal, we sat around for about 5 minutes waiting for the check but our server was nowhere to be found, so I flagged down the other server to give our card to.
Overall it was a very good burger, but they've got to work on their service. Perfect your meat. Get your servers to their tables more than 3 times a meal. Drinks, food order, food delivered is not an acceptable amount. If I have an issue or need my check I shouldn't need to flag down another table's server. And streamline your process so a burger doesn't require an hour time investment.
And in my opinion, just get rid of the sweet potato fries or start making your own, because whatever you sent out I can get in the freezer...
Read moreWe enjoyed our experience here. We visited on a wonderful, rare 70-degree November day with blue skies. The outdoor seating offered a great opportunity to enjoy the weather.
This small, cozy shop in the small downtown-proper area of Perrysburg is a great location. Parking seems to be little problem with the angle-in slots lining the downtown streets. The mode of operation was to order at the front, and then the food was brought to our table. The menu was replete with some very creative burger options. They also offered some Sammie choices, which were intriguing as well. Maybe next time! We found that the prices were reasonable and that the service was quite good.
One of their features is the availability of any burger with alternative meat, such as chicken, or a vegetarian option. Indeed, I chose to get the Let's Brie Friends with the Black Bean substitution. This was prepared from cracked peppercorn, roasted tomatoes, brie cheese and garlic puree. The black bean delivered an excellent taste with great complementary flavor from the condiments. My wife opted for the more traditional Perrysburger. This is the tried-and-true American specialty with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, mustard and ketchup. She was quite happy with it. She was able to take half of it away, so it's a decent size sandwich (1/3 pound). I will also note that each of our burgers were accompanied by very good fries.
All drinks are bottled at the moment, so we chose water to drink. Hence, with the burgers, a small tip and tax, our final total was $27. At $13.50 per person, the value was more than acceptable given the quality of the fare. We'll definitely look forward to...
Read moreStopped in during the Perrysburg Winterfeast... started out good but turned out to be the very worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. Arrived at 12:10pm , my party of 3 ordered the regular perrysburger with no special request plus 2 coffees and on pop. After waiting for 45 minutes ,our waitress came to us to apologize that we hadn't received are order, when I questioned her why 3 tables of customers that arrived sometime after us had just received their meals but we were still waiting on ours, her response was that our order had been misplaced. At that time she said that she was taking 25% off my bill. So another 20min passes and still no food or any offer of refills on our drinks. Now waitress again apologizing for the very poor service that my party of 3 has received and now stated that 50% will be taken off my bill.. all we wanted at this point was the food we had ordered...seeing that we were close to 1 1/2 hrs from entering this place and still no FOOD!!!!! I ask the wait staff if the owner of this restaurant is present which they stated was not in so I did ask for the owners name and phone number, which they did give to me plus now said that I would not be charged for anything for my order... 2 people in my party did ask for a refill in their drinks( one coffee, one soda) which when the drinks finally got refilled, the coffee was ice cold!!!!! But we did finally get our food close to 1hr 45min from the time we originally ordered it. Even had to ask for utensils. So as I finish my review.. I WILL DEFINITELY NOT RETURN. Even though I only live about 15min from this place. There are other places that serve very good...
