Absolutely wonderful place to read, research, or relax with homework. My children, now adults, had positive experiences learning here. I've borrowed many books, CDs, and videos over the years, and currently appreciate the public computers. Sadly, though, I've recently been treated as if I'm suspicious, or just not worth the clerk's time. One lady, with shorter grey hair, asked me as I requested change to make copies, "What's it for"? Is this standard? (I had to verify my Medical status, so none of her business). I broke a $10.00 bill, so WHY was that asked?. Also, the younger brunette clerk, if you're in line, will not ask if you're ready/need help, but just stand at the counter until you speak up. Moe, Ms. Rice, et al, have been wonderful. Read morePeriodical section is terrible! Magazines on the "current" rack are ancient. When I talked with the main desk, I was told that the "policy" permits the current issues to be checked out. Checking out magazines should be confined to non-current issues. New issues should be displayed for all to access and read upon visiting the library. Other libraries, in my experience, reserved current issues for display, thus dedicating the valuable display space to be "actively" utilized and not just a "warehouse" for old issues. As it stands, 1 person gets to enjoy a current issue, until it becomes a non-current issue. Please reconsider your current policy, as we would like to enjoy/utilize this important feature of the Way...
Read moreThe rooms door was left wide open and I've seen many groups use the rooms as they please with no consequences when they are not being used. The group I was with was studying for our upcoming tests and having a good time. We were then told we need to get out. Nobody is using the room? The lights were on. In fact, another group came and used the room that had not reserved it (we checked on the site), and were just as loud as us if not louder, without consequence. The only difference is they weren't a younger crowd. If this place suspects you of being a teenager or younger, you are treated differently. Weird. My experience with libraries in different counties or cities was better....
