Took my family to eat last weekend. We live out of town and decided to stop on our way up to Michigan for the weekend. We Had a $50 gift card that was given to us for Gabriel’s a few years ago. The food was ok everything came out of the kitchen correct and our waitress was nice. When we went to checkout the cashiers refused to honor our gift card and honestly were very rude about it. There was no expiration date on the gift card but their reasoning was they switched Systems. My husband paid for our meal and left without using the gift card. I called the restaurant to speak with the Manager who also would not honor the gift card stating it was posted in the restaurant and on their Facebook page for months. Again I explained that we live out of town and have no reason to follow the Facebook page for updates. I feel like this business pocketed a $50 gift card without providing any service for that payment. Correct me If I’m wrong, but I’ve never seen a Gift card expire. After the manager said she couldn’t do anything to remedy this situation , I asked to speak to the owner or have him call me when he was available. She refused to allow me to talk to him and stated she would talk to the manager and relay information to him and call me back said he would be back in the restaurant Tuesday and it is now Friday and I have still not received any call from the restaurant. I am extremely disappointed in this service and will definitely never go out of my way to stop and...
Read moreFood is plentiful and service is outstanding and friendly. Coffee is not great - I'd like to see them pick another brand or blend. Food for the most part is great, especially for breakfast.
Though the site says they offer delivery, apparently they do not. Consistently says delivery is "unavailable," even if you pick another day and time that is included in the dropdown menu. Only Pickup may be chosen.
I haven't had a bad breakfast here, ever. However, after breakfast, food is hit and miss. Burgers are typically dry and overcooked. Even if "as underdone as possible" is ordered, still virtually burned. I don't recommend any of those. Alfredo is as smooth as I've had anywhere, and I was stationed in Italy, so that is saying something (not quite sure what - is it real cheese?). So, I definitely recommend the alfredo - it's very good. I have a friend from Chicago - you know, a city of great food - who will stop by anytime on her way to visit her mom in Nashville, TN, just for that dish. Yumm.
Always clean and often a short wait, especially on weekends. Prices are decent - nice for a local place with good eats. Parking, though, is a nightmare, especially for those of us with handicapped placards, as others use the spaces inappropriately. There just aren't sufficient spaces close to the restaurant, even on the street.
Overall, I do highly recommend this for a family outing. Great food and service as a rule, and it's clean - including the...
Read moreHighly disappointed. We were in town looking for a nice breakfast spot near bunker hill. Stopped at Gabriel’s for the first time ever with my family. After being seated for 15 mins or so we still haven’t been greeted from our server. The person who sat us realized that we still didn’t have anything so she got our drink orders. Shortly after she left the table out waitress finally came. First thing she says is “how many checks is it?” Then proceeded to get our order and walk away. She did not return until the food was ready. We waited another 20-30 mins for the food seeing people who were sat after us get their food. The waitress brings out one plate for my girlfriend saying the other food will come out in a little as she’s delivering other tables drinks. The last of our food arrives it was all Barely warm like it had been sitting for awhile. It was a simple order of biscuits and gravy as one order and the other order being French toast. The waitress did not come back to the table until we had to ask another server for our check and boxes never once getting refills on anything. It was one of the worst restaurant...
